We’re not buying the game, we’re buying the fantasy that we have the free time to play the game. I heard someone say that about books they bought and didn’t read. You can apply this reasoning to explain a lot of similar spending people do.
Sadly the teleporter forced me to end my run. If I had more time I’d be interested in finding a way to skip it but sadly as it stands now that’s the furthest I can take it. I’m now realizing I should have timed myself though to really get into that speedrunning mindset
Let’s say that the Bucket takes up a weapon slot. So it goes with you through transitions like the teleporter. But that needs a catch. Like say you drop the bucket if you get below 30% health for instance and have to pick it back up.
I had the orange box when it came out, so HL2 is very nostalgic for me, it was one of the first PC games I played, and completed. I still need to continue my playthrough of HL2 VR.
Sadly I have never beaten HL2, only made it so far before something fucks up my save, so maybe I’ll try and finish it this time (and hope nothing happens to it). I beat the OG half life though back in January, so much fucking fun, even with how old it is.
I just got sucked back into this game a few days ago. None of the people I used to play this with want to touch it again so I’ve been running solo. It’s still fun, but its not the same as slow rolling up to my buddies base in a cop car with the lights and sirens going with half of West Points zombies following behind me.
I’ve done the same to my friend before, except I spawned in Louisville, so that was the end of that run for him (And me too). After that we always play with the guts camouflage mod so we at least have a fair chance to make it out if one of use fucks over the other.
Periodically I do a “spending freeze” on games and force myself to look at my backlog. I’m in one right now, Monster Hunter World is rocking my socks off
This type of behaviour is neither new, nor actively harmful. There’s really nothing you, I or anyone else can do to stop it, so the only remaining choice is to ignore it and not post screenshots in different communities where people agree with you.
Some do it just to meme or be funny. Especially ones that make these kinds of posts.
The ones you really have to worry about are the ones that get mad when you mention something about a character that is not accurate. They will publicly execute you. Worry about those ones.
I don’t know the context of the meme but i guess she doesn’t look like that in the game or something? They did their waifu dirty? These jokes seem quite harmless and light.
The thing abaout “waifu culture” is that most people do not actually think or act like fictional anime characters are real people. They do it to troll, or be funny, or act stupid, whatever. Like circlejerk subreddits or other online boards where there is some joke that gets perpetuated that everyone in the community thinks is hilarious but everyone outside thinks is stupid.
Yes, there are a tiny few that do, but not a significant number of people actually think that way.
In the game, she supposedly has well defined muscles, and slightly larger breasts I guess? I haven’t looked at her enough in the game to really remember it by heart.
