Roughly every week but I’ve not really noticed an exact pattern. I believe Lemmy lets you subscribe to a community as an RSS feed so you could use that as a notification if you can get it working!
All the ones not from Amazon are, and if you want you can just create a free Prime trial, claim all the free games, keep them indefinitely, and give them no money
Since many of us are subbed anyway, they're still something of value that one doesn't have to pay extra money for. And it's really easy to forget about them, so smeg's community is doing a nice service for the rest of us.
Pretty much, although these days a lot of folks find it more convenient to have the rules in .pdf for easy access. There's hundreds available. Here's a listing I had posted last night on the @13thFloor magazine I run over here on kbin - happy to crosspost if you feel it fits.
Ah OK, stuff that’s always free isn’t really what I made the community for, it’s more about grabbing games that are normally paid. I do think that !rpg would be a good place top cross-post to though!
Technically true, though you can start a free trial of Prime and claim all the games, and then (supposedly) they’re still yours to keep after the trial expires. A small hoop to jump through, but it should mean free games!
Some definitely do have DRM. I explicitly ended up buying Devil May Cry on Steam despite getting it with Prime because it opened the Twitch launcher every time I tried to play, which messed up Steam Input or whatever I was trying to use at the time.
Amazon is a storefront, not the subscription. They actually do give out free stuff once in a blue moon, so just saying [Amazon] is not clarification enough. On reddit, subs like this would say “complimentary with Prime” or something like that.
