Hadean tactics. It’s a combination of slay the spire and tft. It’s sucked me in.

Ephera, do games w Is there some sort of Indie Game Showcase?

or even something hosted in person with actual demos like E3. Does anything like this exist?

The GamesCom in Germany always hosts the Indie Arena Booth, which has tons of indie devs densely packed in tiny booths, where you can play demos.

Since the pandemic, they’ve also had an online offering, where during the GamesCom, you can explore a virtual space with virtual booths, which will then also link to playable demos that you can download from Steam.

roxas2153,

I wish they had something for the US, but I am glad they hook it up virtually now. Thank you!

SomeAmateur, (edited ) do edc w (Request) Looking for a CCW backpack without a lot of Velcro

Maxpedition Urban Assault maybe? Maxpedition’s prepared citizen bags are interesting too, basically a jansport with bombproof fabrics.

Osprey, Deuter and similar have good bags too but aren’t custom built for carry. Looks normal because they are, and can be surprisingly durable while also being light.

Velcro is out but how about molle loops? Leaning more tacticool for the features and materials or are you looking to be more colorful and inconspicuous?

Vej,

Molle is fine. It’s not as tactical if everyone and ther mom has molle. Even Walmart has it near me.

Looks like Dauntless uses EAC which can be tricky to get working however I see Minecraft Dungeons looks to be working great; thank you

Not exactly what you’re asking for but you can check out Wanderbots on youtube dude plays almost exclusively indie games. Don’t expecte play throughs almost never finishes the games but it’s not a bad way find niche games.

kakes,

Nookrium as well.

roxas2153,

Thank you! I appreciate watching the beginning of a game anyways, that way I can experience the rest if it looks interesting. Definitely has a TON of playthroughs.

I play Fortnite cross platform with Switch and PC. The Lego mod is open world. I’m not sure it’s playable on Linux.

I cannot get fo3 to run on windows 10. fucker just crashes to desktop from steam.

def recommend you play 1&2 though, they’re amazing.

SinkingLotus,
@SinkingLotus@lemmy.world avatar

Have you looked through PCGamingWiki?

mojofrododojo,

I have, and the only thing I’m not trying is disabling multi-monitor support… but it still crashes to desktop. suspect that’s the culprit but I’ll be damned (really, can’t) if I have to turn off multiple displays lol

thanks though!

SinkingLotus,
@SinkingLotus@lemmy.world avatar

Are you playing it on disc by any chance? I know that I couldn’t get it working due to “Games for Windows Live”. I had to purchase it a second time on Steam before it worked (since they removed GFWL from the Steam and GOG versions).

mojofrododojo,

Thanks - no, it’s the steam GOTY edition iirc. pretty sure it’s multimonitor support borking it because I can get it working on an older laptop.

Pr0v3n, (edited ) do gaming w Gacha gamers: which is your favourite disappointment simulator and why?

Summoners War. Played for years, gave it up, got back into it recently. Very very good gacha game. Plenty of PvE to keep you coming and working towards something, plenty of great characters with awesome skins, TONNES of free stuff and 3-4 events running parallel at all times, booming community, and a very deep PvP scene if that’s your forte when you want to use the hard work you’ve done in PvE. Can recommend if you’re one for the gacha mobile games.

jedibob5, do games w Favourite developers

Id, Bioware, and Bethesda have all been mentioned, and are strong contenders.

Ludeon Studios and Ghost Ship Games each only really have one game (RimWorld and Deep Rock Galactic, respectively), but they’re so damn good and they both have such a strong relationship with their communities that they’re definitely among my favorites at the moment.

I have a love/hate relationship with Paradox Interactive. Their DLC model… leaves a lot to be desired, but I have yet to find much else that scratches the grand strategy itch in the same way they do, and the level of mod support they provide is impressive. I don’t know if I can call them my favorite, but I’ve logged over 1000 hours into EU4 alone, so I have to at least mention it, I feel.

Goronmon, (edited ) do games w Favourite developers

I wouldn’t say I necessarily have favorite developers, since I’ve rarely played and enjoyed more than a single game from a developer. At least before that developer is closed or morphed into something else.

Currently, I would say Bethesda is probably my only favorite “developer” currently going. I actually enjoyed Starfield quite a bit and have enjoyed their games going all the way back to Morrowind. Not to mention, there still isn’t anyone else that has managed to act an alternative to their style of games.

Beyond them, I’m wracking my brain trying to come up with another developer that is still putting out games and that I would classify as a “favorite developer” and not just “a developer who makes one game I like”.

Edit: FROM Software, that’s what I was probably trying to think of. I’ve definitely enjoyed quite a few of there games.

RiikkaTheIcePrincess, do gaming w I hate the term "Boomer Shooter"
@RiikkaTheIcePrincess@pawb.social avatar

Maybe it works if read as “games made by boomers?” … Yeah I have no idea how old anyone was/is. Time and I don’t really get along 🤷

Also, going along with a thing I’ve been seeing in these comments, I’m idly curious as to whether anyone who isn’t a Boomer cares about use/misuse/abuse of the term “Boomer” 🤔

SimplyTadpole,
@SimplyTadpole@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

From what I’ve seen, Boomer Shooters were actually often developed by Gen Xers (and played by Millennials), and both of them despise being lumped with the boomers - hence why they dislike the term :p

RiikkaTheIcePrincess,
@RiikkaTheIcePrincess@pawb.social avatar

I guess that makes sense. I’d be upset if critters kept associating me with boomers 😼 I don’t play those so I guess I just haven’t been around the term enough to get a feel for it.
