I should give it a try again… Release was not perfect but I hear so many good stories about the game. Then again, I just started my first playthrough from the Wild Hunt which(er) takes enough time…
Metroid Dread left such an impression on me after playing earlier this year that I bought and modded an OG GBA with a better screen. It was fun and frustrating all at once! My first time soldering since I was a teen. I proceeded to beat Metroid Fusion for the first time despite having the cartridge for probably as long as it had been since my last time soldering. I’m now playing Prime 4, although I’m not yet sure if that qualifies as a highlight.
Besides that, I also got sucked into Hades 2. I didn’t get the true ending to the first game but I did roll credits on this one! What a game. Pokémon Unbound romhack was also on the list of time sinks, but I gotta get back to beating that.
Interesting, I would love a service that periodically checks my wishlist in Steam to see which of them is available on GOG, but could not find anything, do you perhaps now something like that?
ITAD allows for wishlist (and collection) imports from both Steam and GOG. You’ll end up with a unified wishlist, where you can set specific rules to get notified when there’s a sale, including which specific stores have a game on sale.
That’s what I use to track any game I wishlist, with specific rules to notify me when said game is on sale at GOG.
If you’re majorly sick, I recommend playing a visual novel. They usually do not require much movement or thinking on your part; most only need you to click your mouse or tap spacebar to advance. You can look up a VN that suits your needs here: Link If you want a VN that has a particular genre or theme I can give more specialized suggestions.
Aside from that, you can play some simple automation or puzzle games. territorial.io works well for this. shapez 2 is also a good option.
Chaos;Head is a visual novel I’m tempted to recommend specifically for this type of situation. The plot revolves around a protagonist with the power to make his delusions into reality. Lots of mind-fuckery. It’d probably be a trip to experience while sick.
It is. It’s actually the first entry in the Science Adventure series. Steins;Gate comes after, though it also works as a standalone story. Robotics;Notes has a lot more references to Chaos;Head.
Know and played and loved all of those, but good thing you’ve listed them here. Never really finished Mother Russia Bleeds, so that might be worth another go. Thanks for reminding me.
Nice! MRB is definitely worth a replay! I actually replayed it recently and beat it this time. Younger me was trying to play it on hard mode like a psychopath… Lol
I get asked this question a fair bit! Each time ive shared a review recently I added a banana pic. I tend to get asked what my review of said banana is.
But I have an autoimmune disease where potassium is terrible for me! So…I never know how good these bananas are :(
