I had this problem with windows a while ago and I believe in the graphics settings I was able to change it from “Vulkan” to directX. I don’t know anything about Linux, but if you have a comparable setting you can change you might be try that?
What about the 92 metacritic score and the vast majority of reviews calling it “better than the first game in every way” makes it look like a 5/10 for you?
What was the biggest complaint about the first game? It was boring. Kojima over did it with the crazy stuff to counter that complaint. You have many musical moments and the final boss fight like he just watch FLCL for the first time. I like the first game’s more lay back vibe.
The first game is a ton of fun. And seems to have been an 8/10 game. This one is evidently more so and is a 9/10 game. How you get 5/10 from that I’ll never know.
I’m addicted to Broken Arrow. I haven’t played a war RTS since World In Conflict. I’m pretty terrible at it and it’s taking time to learn how to put together a deck, but I’m really enjoying the multiplayer.
seems really cool! I like the flexible interpretation of the “point buy” system that tabletop wargames use.
Developer Steel Balalaika is based in Russia.
Not so fond of putting any money into Russia’s tax base, though. No shade to the devs who are probably cool people, I just struggle with making this kind of choice in our shitty modern world 😔
Damn I didn’t even consider that honestly! It was an impulse buy because I was looking for something new to play. Can’t really refund either as I got it through a cdkey site. Feeling conflicted, but it’s been really fun 🙁
It’s okay, don’t feel bad! This is the kind of political decision where I don’t fault anyone for making either choice. Boycotting Russia is noble, but so is supporting devs for making amazing games!
I only recently played the first game an absolutely loved it. I didn’t realize the second was so close to coming out. Can’t wait. I know review scores tend to be inflated messes but this overwhelming positivity has me even more hyped.
yeah the director’s cut seems to make the progression much smoother. I am just like maybe 1/3 into it, maxed out connections so far each for new stations I get to. (5 stars on my leg so far.)
I do understand the need for those forced encounters, now I got gears to handle I need to remember to turn off the slow mo when encounter them. XD
I am amazed at how well this game is reviewing. It felt like half the critics were dunking on Death Stranding 1 upon release, and then there was this slow reappraisal where a bunch of people changed their tune over the course of the past 5 years. Now DS2 (Seek King Vendrick?) comes out, and with just a little refinement, the critics are all singing its praises. Would the review scores be as high if the general public had not come around on DS1?
I tried to get one of his head but i couldn’t get the animation to time right outside of the dialog, and i’m kind of tough on myself about not using dialogs or preset camera angles for my screenshots
That’s fair, I have respect for rules like that and also know that camping out for a rare quick animation would kinda ruin the effect when you want to be playing.
I just finished Alan Wake 2 yesterday. I think it was pretty flawed but still an overall enjoyable experience. Alan Wake 1 is one of my favorite games of all time though so I may be biased and overlooking some flaws.
I’ve never played Quantum Break and see it’s on sale on Xbox right now. I might pick it up to play it I’ve played just about everything else Remedy has touched. I have the game on steam but I’ve heard the steam deck is only a so-so experience compared to Xbox for this title.
I don’t but thanks for letting me know! My poor Xbox Series S just sits under the tv unused. :| one of the reasons I’m thinking of grabbing the game for 8 dollars. I have all three major consoles and a steam deck and everything gets used except the Xbox.
I have a Series S as well and I have the same issue lol. I wish it had more storage by default because using it via steam deck with XBPlay works great!
