Anachronox always stood out to me, really underrated game. I’m not sure about particulars since it’s been so many years, but the combination of the graphics style, the script and the humor in it, the characters and the design of the world all fell together really well, along with the great sound design and music. It felt authentic.
They write so much shit down in making the games, but the player barely gets to scratch the surface with what they actually present in-game. This is actually really awesome because it lets you piece it all together without straight up telling you every detail.
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. I don’t think I ever got so invested in figuring out a story than with Elden Ring. I thoroughly enjoyed following each character’s progression as they all head for the tree. I’m still bummed that I stalled out in the DLC because of the stupid commander Gaius fight. Game was cake up until his gatekeeping ass. Fuck that guy… Someday I’ll feel like trying again.
I wouldn’t say it’s a “different” game, but I play a lot with friends and they like to bounce around or try new things (and I tend to get distracted by other games too).
Sometimes you’ll notice me get really hooked on a game and play that for like a week straight. I think Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Silent Hill f were the last single player games I got hooked on like that. I tried to get into Resident Evil 2 during October too but something about it I couldn’t get into at the time. Maybe some other time.
Oh that’s very interesting, thank you for posting this. Seems like it’s only preorder for now and a tad expensive, but definitely something I’ll keep an eye on.
This thread title is inaccurate and misleading to people to unfamiliar with how Minecraft hosting works. Microsoft can’t shut down a private server. Even the OOP themself doesn’t phrase it that way in any of their posts about it.
Yes, they can — Minecraft consults a Microsoft-managed, dynamically updatable blocklist of server IPs, regardless of who owns the server. In addition, Minecraft has functionality to ban players from authenticating to any multiplayer server.
Microsoft does not have the ability to stop you from running a Minecraft server. They can block you from using their authentication server, but all you have to do is edit a setting to false and then even people with pirated copies can join the server.
This still doesn’t help if the server is on the server blocklist, which Microsoft can add your server to. Mods that disable the blocklist violate the EULA.
That was a great interview, thanks for doing it! And I bet the devs enjoy getting to talk about this kind of thing. There are plenty of blog posts about what new features are coming out in open source projects, but very few interviews like this one.
It’s cool how everything right now is still (mostly) focused on translating x86 to ARM, but how we’re starting to hear talk about native ARM. I’m guessing that there won’t enough of a push for that, though, until Linux ARM PCs become more popular. I’m definitely looking forward to that.
Thank you so much, I’m really glad you enjoyed this one. A few more are on the way, slowly. The team who make Decky Loader should be soon-ish. Also GameHub Lite (since emulating Steam games on Android is fascinating to me!), and a handful more planned.
Just a few days ago, at a local Vampire Savior tournament. Grand Finals ended with me sniping Q-Bee's bubble super with a callout from B.B. Hood's gun super. Wish I had a clip, but it wasn't streamed or recorded.
Also had a few good laughs playing Skullgirls earlier that night at the same local, chaotic shit always happens in that game.
Several times in Yakuza Kiwami, courtesy of Majima Everywhere system. Basically, you arrive in town completely weak and this dude who is also a yakuza, called Goro Majima, takes it upon himself to “train you up”. For the player this means having to fight him all the time. At first, it’s just meeting him on the street. Then, he starts making ambushes around corners. Then, he starts dressing up as a cop just so he can have an excuse to beat you up. THEN he starts muscling into fights he didn’t even start and it just gets more and more ridiculous from there. I found it super funny just how annoying they made him. In a good way, though!
