Sonic is much less popular in Japan, where Sega is from, than in the west. So the Japanese management might not see Sonic as such an important franchise.
I believe while Sonic games do sell well, they aren't huge enough for Sega to focus on them. Their other franchises like Persona, SMT, Yakuza/Like A Dragon etc perform way better.
Since they abandoned their consoles Sonic has been a mascot they use for franchising. Movies, tv shows, comics, tie-ins... They probably make way more money from those than video games
A lot of teenagers don’t like being in photos, I never did. When I got older, I was to lazy to move out of the frame, and charmander aged me was like fuck it life is great

Anything that you “have to” do daily can start to feel like a chore, so glad to see that you are still enjoying these. I, like some others, don’t read daily but do peek in to look at the screenshots, so it’s nice to follow your journey. If you want to start streaming or your own site someday, this will be a good exercise to get you used to playing and reviewing games.
Oh, and Project Zomboid stories are still my favourite ones! Looking forward to reading your further exploits.

It’s been fun to follow this past year! You’ve been through some bangers, I have an equal love for the Alan Wake games and the New Vegas DLCs are some of the best in gaming imo.
It’s been a very pleasant and cozy daily routine to read, even though I admit I am more interested whenever you’re playing something new and giving your insights and first impressions.
