Congratulations on making it on a year of posts, your contributions are greatly appreciated! I particularly enjoy seeing your stuff because you play a lot of games that I haven’t played, (and probably I will not play) but I get to know a bit about them and appreciate the artistic vision and a tiny bit of the world through your eyes and writing. You take good screenshots as well!
Also, the written format is also something I favor over video (there is already too much of that around) and enjoy the personal touch. Today I read you with my morning coffee. :)
It very much was a night of celebration. I went out and got pizza and played some more Halo 3 with friends before sleeping in. Very much though if I did end up streaming, I think it would be disconnected from these screenshots. It would be its own separate project because I’d like it to be able to stand on its own. I’d probably keep it disconnected entirely. Probably even its own account.
Are you just grabbing screens and reviewing stuff from your collection? Because that’s a lot of gaming, like I have played thousands of games over the last 27 years. But, I can’t game and write with that kind of dedication. Really respectable. Have you considered, cataloguing these and getting a blog? Or turning them into Youtube reviews? You gotta lot of material to work with here, all the hard work is done.
I’d say it’s more so that I play a game and I’ll see something that makes me go “wow that’s cool”. So I’ll take a screenshot to share with friends. And I’ve been doing this for years. And I only have like 20 screenshots for a game at the end of the day. And initial initially It just started me showing off the backlog.
But it kind of turned into doing new screenshots every day. And I’m a college student, who right now doesn’t have a job. So, I have a lot of free time.
I have considered doing a blog. Maybe not YouTube reviews. Very much for me this is more like “here’s a cool thing I like. I like this. here’s why” and I feel like reviews, while they have their own merit, kind of take away from that. Because some of the games that I have played, I think there’s no denying that they’re bad games. I still like them though.
Though now I’m typing that, I suppose offering my opinion on these games as in a way made me a sort of reviewer. So regardless of whether I want to or not, my words hold some weight
I like a lot of middle evolutions better than final, Charmeleon included. Wartortle with those wing-ears, the Nidoran middle forms are pretty good. Zubat is better than Golbat. Meowth has more going on than Persian which is just any regular cat from Earth. Voltorb is better than Electrode, but in fairness they're both just Pokéballs--I always thought Electrode should have been modeled after a Great Ball or something.
Are you serious!? First of all, Haunter is indeed S-tier design, but so is Gengar???
Here’s a list of a FEW middle evos who have far better designs than their first/last evos: Wartortle, Dragonair, Arctibax, Dolliv, Rhydon, Dottler — I could go on….!
Am ready, willing, and able to fight to the death over these opinions, so come at me!!!
Going from Haunter to Gengar, they added arms and legs and big square teeth. All of which are functionally unnecessary for a ghost. And the overall aesthetic went from “scary” to “goofy”.
Congrats on the milestone! I have been looking forward what games would be the ones you enjoyed the most.
I never have played the Uncharted Series. I think I should buy a PS4 and just buy the all the games. I would love to play them on PC though. Maybe I’ll look into an emulator.
RPCS3 runs like a miracle if you have the specs. If you can I’d suggest it. I’m kind of contemplating setting it up myself just to play them again. Or maybe trying that PS4 emulator I’ve heard so much about.
Alternatively, I bought my PS3 used for around $60 on eBay. And this is one of the models that can be soft modded with CFW so if you’d like to acquire it with “alternative” methods it’s an option. But even then, I was able to get disc copies of the second and third games for around $10 apiece
Hey man, congratulations on this milestone! This was a great re-cap to read through, thanks for posting, as always. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for your continued endeavors :)
Okay, yeah, you are hitting me right in the feels with the nostalgia. The Pokémon trading game was my jam growing up! I conned more than a few 6 year olds out of their holographic mew and Charizard cards by convincing them my cards were rarer…im not proud of it…well, maybe a little.
Edit: Okay, chill ya’ll I did this like once when I was 11. The whole coment was a joke. Do you really think im actually proud of something dumb I did almost 25 years ago? Really think about that for a second. And if you answer yes, this dude is actually proud of that, then your social skills aren’t that great.
I was like 11, and it was mostly a joke, chill man. We weren’t allowed to trade Pokémon cards anymore after than. And also, people did it to me, which is the only reason I did it to someone else.
Are you still 11? Cause current you is the one bragging about it. And continuing the cycle of shitiness does fuck all to justify it. If you really regretted it, you could actually show remorse instead of making a “joke” about all the kids you scammed and making endless excuses about it.
It was one time, like 24 years ago dude… and it was like two kids. Like, damn man, whatever happened to you must have really scarred you to be arguing with a stranger on the internet over it.
Are you for really trying to tell me that something i did when I was 11 is some moral failing of mine? Gtfo of here with that shit. If you keep this up imma just block you.
I’m saying what you’re doing currently is a problem. And I’m “still going” because you’re still attempting to normalize it and you keep trying to paint me as mentally damaged because I dare to point that out.
