Yeah, I’m also of the opinion that Fallout 4 lacks that spark that makes a good game. It’s got all of these fancy environments, characters, mechanics, and graphics (for the time), yet it just doesn’t seem to all come together for me. Skyrim, while being a little tedious at times, actually feels like something you would really want to play to the end and then some. Fallout 4, however, isn’t much more in my eyes than a mishmash of vaguely game-adjacent concepts that barely appear to fit together.
Maybe cuz despite all of the settlement helping and everything, the game doesn’t manage to be lived in. The constant radiant quests show the mechanicality of the game instead of fleshing out the world. I love Morrowind, I just played it for the first time last year and it still felt like a more lived world than Fallout 4
I had no idea it was today so I’m not looking forward to anything in particular. Having just finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 it would be amazing news if they had an announcement that they’re intending to release a DLC.
Would also love to see something from Remedy about Control 2 as I love those guys and the Remedy Connected Universe. Well, what I’m really desperate about is Alan Wake 3, but that’s surely not even in pre-production yet (sadly).
Would not mind seeing something from Bloodlines 2 either out of morbid curiosity, but I have no hopes it will actually be good.
Same here, either Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 would be the dream (why not both in a fancy new Orange Box?)
Hell, a non-VR version of Alyx would make me happy! I do have access to a headset, but I get very sick very fast when I use it. Pounding headaches, nausea, it’s really bad 😒
Not so fast, I kind of side-lined Clair Obscure for this game and I need to get back to that. Plus my friend has been telling me to play Dredge. Good thing summer vacations are on, I’ll definitely add The Outer Worlds on my playlist, thanks
Oooh I picked up Dredge in some Steam sale of yore, need to check it out.
The Outer Worlds is fucking phenomenal, dude. It’s pretty much exactly what I was hoping for when I heard the New Vegas studio was making a space game.
They’re notorious for publishing half assed games with great potential, but tend to be fairly open to the modding community patching things up and enhancing the experience.
If you ever would consider replaying it,
look into TheMidnightRide,
which is a great quality of life modpack for Fallout 4: themidnightride.moddinglinked.com
I would definitely get into it again if I ended up owning it on another store. Xbox App version PC straight up won’t let me download some of the mods in-game and has write protection all over the actual files so I didn’t bother
PC Game Pass so I don’t technically own it 🤣 but yeah even if I owned it on the Xbox App it would behave the same as I described which is why I would never buy my games other if I could pick any other store
Sadly, I am too caught up in the idea of it being a Pinnochio souls-like to ever take that game seriously. All power to the people that like it, however
I get that - it was the same thing for me. It’s barely noticeable, though, unless you’re very familiar with the novel and the Disney adaptation. It’s a very tasteful homage to the novel by Carlo Collodi, but you don’t need to have read the novel to appreciate the game for what it is. It’s essentially Bloodborne 2 for what it’s worth. Truly amazing game.
Might just be a tad biased :D But if you keep an open mind about it and that’s all that’s keeping you from giving it a try, I promise you - you won’t regret trying it. There should still be a demo for the game if you’re up for it. :)
spoilerIt is much more than just Pinocchio’s story. Dorothy makes an appearance and there are hints of Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty & the Beast and a few others are alluded to throughout the game if you pay close attention.
The story also takes after the older rendition of the tale that is much more mature in its representation of themes. Think of it like a “Brothers Grimm” version instead of the watered down Disney edition.
