Bummer about the bugs, but it sounds like the game is promising dispite them. Hopefully they’ll be able to squash the majority of them over the next few months.
A PS5 port might come later. Microsoft execs have repeatedly (including recently) talked about bringing Xbox games to PlayStation - and it’s not just talk: Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves were eventually ported over after some timed exclusivity. This doesn’t guarantee a port and there is no official word on this game yet, but still.
It might take a year though - or longer. The upshot is that by that point, most serious bugs should have been fixed. The downside is that you’ll miss out on the PC modding scene. Older games in the series have one of the best modding communities out there and I hope they’ll refine and expand this game as well.
Until then, you might want to take a look at Chernobylite. It’s a smaller title, but clearly inspired by the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
Don’t fret, it’s only a 3 month exclusive and it’s going to take them a minimum of 1y for the game to reach a state worthy of being sold. This is one for the patient gamers both on PC and the consoles.
my fav one recently has been ftb: skies, but that’s a skyblock , I’m going to try the decursio project soon though, it’s supposed to be an rlcraft/sevtech style mod pack, so I’m excited for it , I just haven’t have free time to play it yet.
I honestly cannot trust game reviewers after seeing some of the reviews for this exceptional game. What game has ever had a successful issue-free launch in the past 4 years? I can’t think of a single one. But all of a sudden they are holding this one to a much higher standard, like where the fuck was that when Starfield came out? Hundreds upon hundreds of fake, completely inflated reviews claiming it was perfect in every single way.

I don’t understand your point. Do you want them to ignore the bugs and performance issues? Would you be happier if the reviews lied to you and said the game was perfect? If they took that route, I guarantee you’d be complaining about that as well.
where the fuck was that when Starfield came out?
“They didn’t complain about that game, so they shouldn’t complain about any game ever!”
However, bugs can be fixed, performance can get a bit better (or more powerful hardware will arrive at some pont), but bad writing and characters will stay bad forever. I think this game can be fixed where Starfield was a lost cause on launch.
I just bit the bullet and subscribed to a Linux VPS (virtual private server) at IONOS. I’m from Belgium, so I took the German datacenter. I’ll keep you updated on my experiments! I’ll be trying out a Luanti server, bit of it doesn’t work out I have other projects that I could use the server for :).
I tried to play London and it crashed constantly. Now, that’s not all that different an experience from playing any Bethesda game, but it did kind of kill any interest I had in the mod.
Which version? The latest version includes Buffout 4 which helps some. However, yeah it crashes a lot for me, but thankfully I save a lot and have the patience to just reload. I understand not everyone does though.
It was very early on, the first week or so after it released. I’m sure they’ve fixed a lot of the bugs but honestly I just haven’t really been motivated to try it out again.
Yes, that’s why it is necessary to downgrade Fallout 4 and there are instructions on how to do so on github, that and/or you can use Folon’s downgrader.
I have to try again on my system with AMD 6750 video card, on my other one with Nvidia 3070 it keeps crashing every five minutes and I was already a couple of hours in and liking it.
the discord for the mod is really helpful, and has a pretty smart bot to decipher crashlogs. Definitely solved some issues I had. Recommended, unless discord is a nono, which is fair.
I do some “community service” over there and help out others where I can. And seems like most crashes are either some lingering mods from old-fallout4 install, creation club mods (any cc*.* files in fallout/data -dir, or old config files in mydocs/mygames/fallout4) or “bug fix mods” intended for 1.00/1.01 folon versions, and lastly: weapon debris -option enabled - that causes crashes outright with nvidia cards.
edit: also “long loading times fix” -mod is a total nono, there’s better and less files corrupting options out there (highfpsphysics)
I don’t like messengers without (audited and good) end-to-end encryption,
I get overwhelmed easily in groups and bad things happen.
Still, appreciate the recommendation and suggestion 🙂.
Mine was a fresh install of both fallout 4 and fallout london and hasn’t had any mods added to either, so it is unlikely any of those are the reason it crashes.
Edit: I will look at that option but I have an AMD GPU, so that shouldn’t be an issue if it’s only nvidia.
