I feel like a cheater, but I tried my best to not cause any griefing. I’m also in my 40s and don’t have the time to git gud when I just wanna play the story.

Dark souls 2 & 3 have mods that make it easier. DS2, I had crazy defense and rolling. Poor invaders would backstab me 5 times and only take me to 50% health. Then 3 basic quick hits would kill them.

DS3, I was around level 200 thanks to a xp multiplier mod and was able to steamroll bosses. Invaders still destroyed me, but that’s fair. Frequently I let them and to my surprise, most invaders if you don’t attack, won’t attack back and will just goof off. I loved it.

I’m going to wait until Elden Ring is a bit more quieter before I play with mods. Again, not interested in griefing. Just want to adventure on my own terms.

FooBarrington,

You shouldn’t play online with those mods. Sucks for other players to be up against someone they literally can’t beat because of unfair advantages.

Katana314,

The game also hides a bunch of secrets that are only meant to be found by messages from online players.

The game is both designed to be played online, and also causes serious issues in its online mode.

FooBarrington,

That’s kind of the price you have to pay if you use mods. You can either not use mods and experience the full game (if you can beat it), or you can use mods, but shouldn’t go online so you don’t kill other peoples fun.

Nexomon: Extinction cracked me up pretty much throughout the entire game.

conciselyverbose, do gaming w Your Opinion on my Game Idea

I think there's something like it someone suggested to me once, but something like an RTS where you code up your units with different behaviors seems to me like something that could be fun for novices and more experienced coders alike if done correctly. You probably wouldn't want to support a full coding language, but taking something like Python or another scripting language that supports objects and providing a small set of legal commands to include in your unit code would be interesting to me. If the base was a campaign that encouraged creative problem solving to use your hand coded unit behavior, and you added a simple way for players to share code with each other, pit their unassisted bots against each other, and maybe even added the ability to write/pin commands to change behavior patterns for an actual real time head to head, I might play the hell out of it.

I also might play for 5 minutes and never touch it again though.

Allow me to introduce you to Screeps. You’re welcome.

conciselyverbose,

That's probably the one I've seen before. It definitely does look like it has potential.

My biggest issue is actually finding the time to really dive into it among all the other stuff I want to play. I could see absolutely getting into a black hole with it some time I start though.

Thanks for helping me find that to at least put on my wishlist. For now between BG3 and Starfield I don't need another giant time sink, but I'll definitely keep it in mind when I'm looking for something different.

Yeah imma a just gonna say it.

Borderlands 2 esp the Mr Torgue DLC. The DLC is a slog, but Torgue had me losing my shit throughout it.

Root and myandroidtools. You then go to that specific app, list all the activities it can do, then disable any which has a name related to ads like “adsActivity”. At that point it can’t show full screen ads at all.

Some games they give you the reward immediately but nowadays the ad SDKs they can check if the ad was shown or not so it gives an error

I believe jellyfin has an option to ‘burn in’ subtitles so they are part of the video. I don’t know how this effects performance or anything but it should work for what you described. I believe you can turn it on through the admin web ui.

7h0m4s,

This is indeed the correct answer. It is under the transcoding options. Your server will essentially need to re-transcode the video on the fly to add in subtitles. Which requires a not insignificant amount of processing power.

I ran into this issue while running jellyfin on a raspberry pi.

So long as your server has hardware acceleration turned on. To allow jellyfin to use your GPU for transcoding. You should be fine.

Seeing what’s been already recommended here, my suggestion sounds out of left field even to me… But somehow, “Elden Ring bug easier” makes me think first and foremost of Zelda breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom. Huge open world with secrets everywhere, engaging aesthetics and, challenging yet less punitive combat. The only thing would be that the combat is less emphasized, an exploration and problem solving more. But combat is still very much there and you can go quite deep in its mechanics, especially with all the time stopping and telekinetic shenanigans.

Edit: Not really a western ARPG I guess but the freedom of play is similar

i don’t know too much about jellyfin compatibility, but your issue is probably ASS/SSA format subtitles, which are a complex graphical overlay subtitle, rather than simple text so device support is less guaranteed.

You could try pre-burning the subtitles in before hand by re-encoding the video, or find content with SRT subtitles which have wider support.

ASS on android clients is mostly a solved issue these days so as the other commenter suggests, the google TV chromecast with a native jellyfin app would be a more reliable solution for you.
