From the videos of Skyrim AI mods I’ve seen, I don’t think it’s that far off. At least for your basic, run-of-the-mill NPCs. They’re already able to know if you take off all your clothes and will ask you stuff like “hey we don’t allow that in here” or “you must be cold”.
We can’t be that far off from a truly immersive RPG game
For me it’s first person puzzle games. I can think of maybe a dozen off the top of my head that came out in the last decade. I especially enjoy when they’re open world. The ability to just quit a puzzle that’s stumped you and go try something else for a little bit is incredibly refreshing.
Lifetime? RuneScape (oldschool, none of the rs3 stuff)
Within the last 5 or so years? Insurgency (mainly Sandstorm) Hits the perfect blend of realistic shooter with fast paced action. I also exclusively play coop where you’re on a team with other real people and you’re playing against a team of bots. Nice and easy-going. You aren’t getting all pissed off and mad at someone on the other team and the modded servers are really fun
One of my biggest struggles with game dev is just getting the steam page in front of enough eyeballs - The Algorithm really prioritizes steam wishlists. if you have a second to wishlist my game (no commitment!) it would help immensely!...
