I was on The Perfect Tower 2 for a while until my 8th ascension introduced a different grind and I lost interest.

I've been on Farmers Against Poatatoes Idle and its mindless enough that I can more or less passively play with just one daily check in.

if you are on android, the tower is pretty good. it has years of stuff to do, and it's still getting more added to it.

ISEPS and CIFI, both by Octocube Games, have kept me hooked for several years now, albeit they tend to land more on the idle side of things, at least the way I play them.

Dodecadragons is more active most of the time, and IMO is absolutely fantastic. It recently reached completion, but I just found out while writing this that apparently some people bullied the dev so hard they pulled the game down earlier this week. Still, they have some other games at demonin.com so show them some support. Try Array Game!

I also played Tap Wizard RPG on mobile for a pretty long time. It’s good stuff.

It’s not a type of game I often play, but I enjoyed Kittens game a lot. And space plan, while not super long, was also really enjoyable

Stillhart,

+1 for Space Plan

broguy89, do gaming w What games have you played in the last 365 days that stand out to you as the most memorable experiences?

TUNIC was such a fun lil gem. So many smiles when you see the all the cheeky shit the devs pull off at every corner.

TotK just blows your mind in what you can do.

But come on… FFXVI has so much spectacle. And Soken’s soundtrack is just too hype. Games aren’t just about gameplay, or we would’ve never had No More Heroes 2. Such big, grandiose moments that you just can’t help but remember. Of course, it has so much boring tedium too, which I suspect are there to really make those huge, epic moments stand out even more.

We Love Katamari

MangoPenguin, do gaming w Pirating games you own?

I would say that’s not pirating from an ethical perspective. If it’s actually legal with current laws may be another story.

My viewpoint is I’ve paid for the right to play the game, where I get it from doesn’t matter.

Haui,

You hit the nail on the head. We really need more ethics and less laws in our lives (or the laws must be more ethical).

blindsight,

Piracy is effectively legal in Canada, for downloading. ISPs can’t share your private details without a warrant from the courts, and the courts have rejected mass John Doe lawsuits to unmask users.

Plus, infringement for private use has a maximum penalty of $5000, but could easily be set by the first case creating court precedent at 3× the retail price of the pirated media (punitive damages are usually capped at 3× the value of the good, in Canada.)

That means that going to court would be incredibly expensive, could only target single individuals, and would likely set a precedent that they can only get $60 in damages for a $20 movie. Not going to happen.

So, piracy is effectively legal in Canada, for private use. Just don’t be stupid and profit from piracy.

I haven’t found/heard of a good, meaty new game in a while. Recetly I’ve dug back into Leaf Blower Revolution but like a lot of incremental games it eventually devolves into having very specific strategies or goals.

I have quite enjoyed Synergism in the past, as well as Wizard and Minion Idle and NGU.

Why not use something else? I know what community this is but still. Internet Archive serves a lot of important purposes and they’ve got enough heat on their back as is.

knokelmaat, do gaming w What games have you played in the last 365 days that stand out to you as the most memorable experiences?

Outer Wilds. Will probably stick with me for the rest of my life.

Death Stranding also had some moments that I remember fondly.

Slay the Spire still got an immense amount of attention from me, even though I started playing it longer ago than 365 days. I discovered how fun this game can be with a friend / a group. Building the deck together and making decisions really amplifies the emotions :D.

Demon Souls, first souls like I finished, on PS5. Just an incredibly polished experience.

Daydreamy,

If you love slay the spire check out the actually multi-player across the obelisk

hi fi rush hands down. particularly one cut scene which has the literally coolest transformation I’ve experienced in a game : youtu.be/cU5utimmtkg?t=96

Seytoux, do piracy w CS.RIN.RU's Gdrive links are down and no longer accessible. Is it just limited to that site or did google do something and screw GDrive for Piracy ?

Yup, I saw this yesterday, now apparently for what I can see they are trying to minimize bandwidth downloads and mass sharing of files by the account having to give one by one authorization to everyone that wants to access a file

I like that it’s another genre fitting for the “Silent badass treated as a lethal legend by other characters”, similar to Doom’s Doomguy. It almost makes sense - there was such a gap in skill between the common and the best pilots in wars, it’s somewhat practical to have “stories of caution about a plane with a certain decal”.

AlexWIWA,

Yeah Mobius 1 is basically plane Doom Guy

tunetardis, do gaming w Pirating games you own?

I hate capped internet accounts. As the dad, I’d have to police the kids especially not to blow the monthly cap, and eventually I switched to a lower bandwidth but unlimited option and there was finally peace in the family.

SnowBunting,

How much more did that cost? And did the kids notice the drop in bandwidth?

tunetardis,

I don’t remember it costing much more and the kids seemed relieved to not incur my wrath on a monthly basis. And not long after, my ISP increased the speeds on all accounts, so it more or less got us back to where we had been anyway.

Incidentally, if you’ve been with a particular ISP for years, it’s worth talking to a person when you change your account. They may have some discretionary power to give you say an introductory rate on a better plan to reward your loyalty?

SnowBunting,

Really? Thank you for the in person tip. I’ll try that the next time I go in.
