plumbus,

I did the „convert 3 years of prepaid Xbox Gold into Game Pass Ultimate“ trick. That way I paid 100€ (3x33€ for Gold+ 1€ to convert to GP) flat for three years of Game Pass, which is an incredible deal.

I don’t know what I will do when the prepaid time runs out. I’m enjoying the content, but before I was quite happy with heavily discounted games. I don’t need to play on day one.

plumbus,

I‘m quite enjoying it.

plumbus,

I‘m quite enjoying it.

plumbus,

Right now I’m mainly playing Starfield, have started Alan Wake remastered and only quickly tested Forza Motorsport.

Before Starfield came out I played through some of the Game Pass Library: AC Origins, A short Hike, Bramble, Quake II, Lego Starwars, Lego City Undercover, Planet of Lana, Tunic, lots of Witcher 3, A Plague Tale Requiem, High on Life, Starwars Jedi Fallen Order and many more.

plumbus,

I paid 500€ for a Xbox Series X and three years of Game Pass Ultimate, and as I said twice before:

I‘m quite enjoying it.

plumbus, (edited )

My picks came easy:

Diablo 2

Half Life 2

Witcher 3 (got me back into adult/dad gaming two years ago)

Blizzard and Westwood got me hooked as kid:

Dune 2, WarCraft 2, StarCraft, C&C Red Alert

plumbus,

I‘m not questioning the data, but this whole „article“ is advertising to sell an ETF to invest into this trend.

The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion - 17-08-2023 (lemmy.world) angielski

Have you been spending hours trying to pass a level? Or maybe you are completely addicted to a newly bought game. Do you have a question about a game or would like to share something else? In the Weekly Discussion Thread, you can do it all!...

plumbus,

Playing through the Quake 2 Remaster with a nostalgic feeling. Now, having kids, I realize that I should not have had access to that at 13 yo. Distribution channels were different in 1997.

Recommendations for open world games with focus on interaction instead of exploration or survival

I would like recommendations for open world games where the player has abundant ways to interact with the world, be it with the NPCs or buildings, and does not have to worry about survival aspects of the character or spending time exploring a static world. I would not mind if it comes at the cost of a smaller sized world, as...

plumbus,

Witcher 3:

  • NPCs have at least some rude remarks for you, but a good number also have hints and background info hidden in their dialogue.
  • You should eat to heal, but on the lowest difficulty setting this is not required anymore. Just meditate and everything is refilled.
  • You can explore different landscapes and their flora and fauna, but you can also go to the towns and cities and checkout their sociological patterns. The settings even change after you meddle with higher politics in the main and side quests.

If you prefer something besides swords and monsters maybe (haven’t played it myself) Cyberpunk 2077.

Another one I have started (but far from finished) is Mass Effect. In my first sessions I was overwhelmed by the many dialogue options and factions present in the citadel.
