@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml

Hi, I’m Miss Brainfart.

I’m afraid of sharks, with the exception being blåhaj. What could that possibly mean, huh.
(That’s not a hint, I genuinely have no idea)

Lemmings can also find me @miss_brainfart:catgirl.cloud on Matrix, if they desire to do so for e2ee reasons

Does it also recompile shaders every single time you start the game, even if nothing about your hardware or software changed, like Warzone did?

That was infuriating

Honestly, I actually respect the meme. What was there first, a fridge? Now a toaster? Maybe a microwave next?

It’s so stupid that it’s kinda funny to me

So basically, Hitman in the world of Oglaf?

That would be pretty fun, actually

Oh god, I just realized… Imagine if they brought Portal back, but in VR like they did Half-Life.

We’d get so many videos of people falling over in their living room

Whatever it is, the launcher is just bad in general. May I reccommend Heroic Games Launcher instead? You log in, get authenticated, and then it can download the games directly from the source, without ever having to run this god awful launcher.

I think it’s funny how people create accounts only to never actually spend any money on this platform

Good gaming experiences with no HUD? angielski

I’m starting to find that HUDs in games clutter the screen and take away from being fully immersed in the game. I like games that force you to pay attention to what’s going on in the game and not numbers/markers on the edges of the display. What are some of your favorite games to play with no HUD? Here are a few of mine:...

@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml avatar

Well, you mentioned Battlefield 1 already, but yes.

No HUD, good sound system, only standard issue rifles… Honestly an experience like no other.

I mention good sound because no HUD means you get a lot more focused on what you’re hearing, and the sound in this game is fantastic. So many great audio clues to work with.

I don’t like how much Minecraft has me by the balls. With all my hatred for Microsoft, I can’t let that game go.

On that note, install MineClone first, see if your kid likes it. Can’t hurt to try.

(Edit: MineClone2, the mod for Minetest, as seen in the reply below)

I indeed mean MineClone2, the mod for Minetest.

I should’ve specified, there’s no shortage of Minecraft clones to be confused by.

I swear to god, half of my most recent playthrough was spent trying to find the last blueprint for the grappling arm

What is some very predatory, sneaky and popular among children game?

I’ll be doing a workshop in a few weeks, and I wanna raise awareness about predatory lootbox paytowin games. I wanna play live, an easy to start playing and understand game, that is so sneaky and predatory that some kid would very easily buy some microtransaction or lootbox without even realizing what they just did....

I don’t know how popular Pokemon Sleep is yet, but that concept of a „game“ is seriously fucked

Each game on your account represents a share.

That sounds fun.

I don’t have anything against upscaling per se, in fact I am surprised at how good FSR 2 can look even at 1080p. (And FSR is open source, at least. I can happily try it on my GTX 970)

What I hate about it is how Nvidia uses it as a tool to price gouge harder than they’ve ever done.

@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml avatar

I mean, I didn’t say it looked great or anything. Just better than I expected.
But of course my expectations were extremely low when I saw so many comments like yours, so I was actually pleasantly surprised with what it can do for what it is.

Though to be fair to the Deck, the native resolution is already so low that there isn’t a whole lot FSR can work with.

You’d expect that when Raytracing/Pathtracing and the products that drive it have matured enough to be mainstream, devs will have more time for that.
Just place your light source and the tech does the rest. It’s crazy how much less work that is.

But we all know the Publishers and shareholders will force them to use that time differently.

miss_brainfart,
@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml avatar

New features is what sells a product, so not far from my original point, I’d say.
Definitely a bit of both, and improving code is never the highest priority, yeah.

My next card will be AMD, but that doesn’t change the fact that Nvidia is the biggest authority in this market. They do whatever they want, and AMD doing their best to only be slightly worse isn’t helping.

I’d be happier if the site didn’t violate the GDPR

A bit of added context:
They are based in Latvia, which is part of the EU, so subject to the GDPR. And under the GDPR, the use of Google Analytics is in fact unlawful without getting explicit and informed (that one’s very important) consent from the user.

Article 44 is the relevant one here, detailing data transfers to so-called third countries outside the EU.

I migrated my account ages ago, and I keep getting emails telling me to migrate anyway. These messages are sent to the Microsoft address I migrated to.

I contacted support, and they told me everything’s fine, my account is properly migrated, and that I should ignore these messages, since they’re probably attempts at phishing. (That look 100% legit, might I add. Nothing about these messages looks alarming or wrong in any way, which is what made me contact support in the first place.)

That microsoft account of mine never received any questionable messages before, so thanks for leaking my data to malicious actors, I guess.

So is he the monster and the other players run around as the declaration of independence?
