cafuneandchill,

I think people really enjoy the base building aspect, like all of my friends treated building bases on some level as being like Sim City.

Actually true
When I first tried out StarCraft as a kid, I didn’t even care about all that battle thing; I just liked seeing buildings go up

cafuneandchill,

Post-Wii Nintendo seems to be allergic to 2d and pixel art stylez

cafuneandchill,

I am braindead, so I play Caber Knight

cafuneandchill,

I’ve been trying to walk more lately, so this might just be the thing for me

cafuneandchill,

Ah, it’s basically an in-universe explanation that it doesn’t work on mobile devices lol

cafuneandchill,

I also think that it would be cool to see it on Steam someday, but I also think that it’s stronger as a browser game. There’s just something magical to having such a great, mysterious and immersive experience behind a simple hyperlink

cafuneandchill, (edited )

That’s Devil May Cry (featuring Abraham Lincoln from Super Mario Bros.)
Produced by SQUARE ZENIS (colloquially known as “Squeenis”)

cafuneandchill,

I’ve played Wildfrost, but I don’t feel confident in recommending it, because it’s quite hard and very RNG-based. But, maybe that’s your thing. Honestly, I played it just for the art style lol

cafuneandchill,

Can’t wait to get my ass handed to me by an early-stage boss once again, but now on mobile

cafuneandchill,

Vinesauce Joel’s playthrough of it is also very iconic

cafuneandchill,

Oh yeah, I remember that

cafuneandchill,

Wildfrost mention, hell yeah

I’m not too into deckbuilders, so I played it just for that gorgeous presentation lol. The art style falls under an unusual category of “cute, but I’m pretty sure that the artist also draws naughty stuff on the side”

cafuneandchill,

I remember playing a very early version of this; at the time, it looked very cool, even if somewhat basic

cafuneandchill,

Helldivers is a game where you play in a squad of 1-4 (solo, friends, or it’ll pair you with randoms) to drop down to planets and try to survive against bugs or automatons while completing some objectives.

Wait… that’s just Deep Rock Galactic!

Looking for emotional game recommendations angielski

My favorite games are Omori, Disco Elysium and Outer Wilds. I cried for hours at the end of those games, and I think the common point in them is high-quality emotional writing and stellar OST (music really affect me) and my attachment to the characters....

cafuneandchill,

I really wanted to suggest Nier Replicant, but, seeing as you didn’t like Automata, I guess there’s no point. I enjoyed both, though, since I kind of was in a specific headspace the time I played them. I also took both at face value initially, which has helped

Other than that, may I suggest Beacon Pines? It’s all about the story, so I think you’ll love it. The way you discover different branching paths the story takes is also quite novel.

I also loved FAR: Lone Sails. It’s more of a “show, don’t tell” kinda story

There’s also this itchio game I found once – Under a star called Sun. It’s super short, though

cafuneandchill, (edited )

Out of all that I could’ve suggested, Ace Attorney series probably fits the bill the most

EDIT: Also, https://store.steampowered.com/app/1745510/Lunacid/! Finished it recently; what a beautiful experience it has been

EDIT2: Also, https://store.steampowered.com/app/1269640/Beacon_Pines/! For the love of all that is holy on this bitch of a planet, please play it

cafuneandchill,

I love Etrian Odyssey V (especially the music), but I suck at it lol

cafuneandchill,

Yeah, I’ve yet to check it out

cafuneandchill,

Honestly, I also replay the trilogy from time to time lol

cafuneandchill, (edited )

I usually have a little bit of both for every game I try, but if I had to pick, it would be Elite: Dangerous. I really love the visuals and how immersive it all is, but the gameplay gets repetitive and boring really fast. I guess I’m part of the problem, since I only did exploration and exobiology (if a game gives me a pacifist route, then I’ll pick it in a heartbeat); maybe I should try something like mining or hauling, eventually.

I also have some nitpicks concerning the gameplay, like, if I’m in a planetary rover, I have to use the laser turret intended for combat instead of a dedicated mining drill/laser. Or, when I’m collecting genome samples for exobiology, I can only gather from one species at a time. Considering that you only gather data for a single population, which usually spread out far and wide, gathering genome data on a single planet takes a long ass time.

EDIT: Also, traditional roguelikes (Brogue, Cogmind, Dwarf Fortress). They look awesome, but holy shit do they make me stupid

EDIT 2: Also, Etrian Odyssey games. For the same reasons – top notch visuals and presentation, but frustratingly difficult and obtuse gameplay

cafuneandchill,

Haven’t played anything these last several days, save a little bit of Cogmind. I don’t really enjoy traditional roguelikes, because there’s usually no real incentive to play them (i.e. story, atmosphere, engaging gameplay etc.), and, honestly, I just suck at them lol. But I do keep coming back to that one, because it’s just so immersive! And, for some reason, I get Blame! vibes from it; I guess it’s because of the whole abandoned facility full of robots thing.

Some other things I’m planning to do:

  • I’ve finished the main story of Yakuza 0 and now plan to do the remaining substories. After that, I’ll finally move on to Kiwami
  • Finished one ending of Lunacid, and will try to get to the rest (plus collect all the weapons and magic rings). While I tried my best to not use wikis or guides (so as not to spoil the secrets), I think this time I’ll probably need one. Well, FromSoft and FromSoft-inspired games really do be like that lol
cafuneandchill,

Tried looking for a full feature list, couldn’t find any. Makes sense, tho, because it would probably be massive.

I’ve tried SoH before, and my favourite features are 60 FPS gameplay and gyro aiming. It also has a bunch of enhancements like time savers (faster test speed, “Better Owl”, time travel using the Song of Time, etc.), alternate assets (= mod support!), bunch of fixes and cut gameplay restoration. If you stream, it also has Crowd Control support. It even has a co-op mode now lol. As for the randomizer stuff, it has an item and check tracker, and a lot of settings for it.

I recommend you just check it out yourself or, alternatively, watch some video on YT that goes more in-depth on the features

cafuneandchill,

Probably The Incredible Machine (aka TIM)

cafuneandchill,
  • Yakuza 0 – doing the real estate thing as Kiryu; already beat two Kings
  • Lunacid – the atmosphere is amazing, but this game desperately needs a pause button

Also about to try Factorio once again

Last time I tried it I found it nice, but overwhelming and without much incentive to continue playing it. Maybe this time this changes

What are some hidden indie gems nobody knows about? angielski

Which indies did you discover and would love more people to know about? I’ll start: The Pale Beyond. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem tbh, but it’s such a good story rich game. I laughed, I cried and felt the characters struggles. If you like story rich games/ choices matter, check it out.

cafuneandchill,

Oh, I really love Hacknet! Played the main game and the DLC. Discovered it one day while browsing Rémi Gallego’s (aka The Algorithm) discography, and found out that he did some tracks for the OST

cafuneandchill,

I remember doing a rather long play session of Fez, and by the end of it I had a massive headache from all the camera changes lol. 10/10 game tho

cafuneandchill,

Just recently started Lunacid, and I’m having a blast. I’m a fan of dungeon synth and its subgenres, and I"ve been looking for a game that has those vibes for quite some time. This one seems to fit the bill quite a bit. And I also have wanted to check out King’s Field, but was afraid that it might be too dated to be enjoyable; Lunacid seems like a fresh take on that dungeon crawler style of gameplay. The only thing the game lacks imo is a dedicated pause button

cafuneandchill,
  • Beacon Pines – a charming mystery story with anthropomorphic animals. Has an interesting take on the visual novel formula by having you unlock new dialogue choices as you progress through the story; that way, you naturally explore different paths the story might take. Night in the Woods and (possibly) OneShot fans might like this one.
  • Oolite – a solid FOSS remake of 1984’s Elite. Has a bunch of mods for it; some expand the gameplay quite substantially.
  • Orbiter Space Flight Simulator – imagine a Microsoft Flight Simulator game, but you’re going to space instead. Or Kerbal Space Program, but without the rocket building mechanic. That being said, KSP fans (and fans of space in general) should enjoy it.
  • Transcendence – Star Control II meets Rogue. A cult classic in the space sim genre that’s been in development since 1995. Space dogfighting, trading, mining, smuggling etc, but also traditional roguelike stuff like unlabeled barrels and containers (= undiscovered potions) and permadeath (optional). Highly moddable, uses XML as the modding language. Has a free version (see link) and a Steam release, which includes the paid expansions.
cafuneandchill,

For some time, I considered Orbiter to be better at providing an arcade experience of “choose ship/scenario and fly away”. But now that KSP also has scenarios, maybe this argument doesn’t really stand now. But I still think that Orbiter’s MFDs are better than KSP’s manoeuvre planner (at least for precise manoeuvres)

cafuneandchill,

I liked it a lot, but the story is definitely hit or miss. Gameplay was not as deep as other Platinum games, but still ok
