I don’t get it when they rush to update a game that’s already looking very good. But they leave old games that could really benefit from an update by the side.
I still wonder what was so special about my N64 joysticks that I never experienced drifting. They’d recalibrate every time you turned the console on (or held some key combination) and after that were golden.
Huh? Wasn’t that literally one of the original goals of Stadia. You’d watch someone play a game and you’d be able to launch the same game at the place where you paused the video.
Valve wasn’t first to market by a long shot. Valve was the first to offer a great price and a great operating system. But the general category of devices existed long before the Deck. They just were fucking expensive.
I often pirate old games I own because I’m too lazy to go find the disc. Although at least for Gothic I went to find my old disc anyways because the version I downloaded was missing the In Extremo concert.
And I pirated Sims 4 because of some DRM stuff, can’t remember the exact issue. But let that sink in, I had to pirate a game that is literally free.
True Colors is great. It’s a little bit more personal and smaller in scope than the first two. For myself the first one is still my favourite with True Colors as a close second. If you were annoyed by the teenage drama of the first one then you should like True Colors more.
But if you’re looking for traditional adventure puzzles you will be disappointed. There are barely any in this game. It’s a more or less linear story where your relationships are more important than solving the mystery.
MyHouse.wad. It’s astonishing that a fucking Doom level can do better environmental storytelling than most modern games. Don’t read much about it, just download it and play!
I also played Life is Strange: True Colors with my daughter and she was amazed at how a video game can just influence our emotions.
Yeah, I feel the same. When I was younger I loved RPGs because they usually gave you 40+ hours of content just for the main story. Now I kind of dread playing them because it takes so much mental effort.
Then again, Long Covid also gave me brainfog. But I also felt that way before I had it. I guess back then my mental capacity was taken up by work.
