Mass Effect the IP isn’t the issue, the issue is EA sucks. So you’re basically asking why do they even persist as a company anymore.
Also I think Andromeda was okay, just terribly buggy at launch. The gameplay was actually pretty fun imo. On the other hand, Veilguard was technically sound but the game itself was not great. So if they can somehow learn lessons from both, there is hope.
No games that lead to players being pissed at other players, even outside of the confines of the game. I’ve had that happen with, for example, Secret Hitler, so no Secret Hitler....
the strategy is to buy everything you can ASAP but focus on monopolizing and developing the orange and red properties. they are statistically much higher to land on than other properties because people get sent to jail so often. When exiting jail rolling 6, 8, or 9 is very likely to hit orange first and then maybe red on the next roll.
tldr; punish the poor fuckers getting out of jail. yay capitalism!
yeah I think I played about 10 hours. the initial stage around hogwarts proper was interesting and fun, but once the quests went out into the open world it got a lot more tedious.
In the graveyard of live service games Concord may just be the biggest headstone, and that seems to have focused some minds over at PlayStation. Previously the noises coming from Sony were all about the importance of live service games to its future strategy, and it had announced plans to launch more than 10 live service games...
idunno, to me the heavy reliance on platforming and metroidvania-style traversal far outweighs any superficial RPG elements in those games. I just get annoyed rather than immersed in the game.
Happy new year guys!😀 Just now, it hit midnight here, and it’s officially 2025. I was playing Pennon and Battle, and I realized it’s the last game I played in 2024!! That gave it a different kind of meaning. Now I’m curious, what was the last game you played in 2024?
I just looked at a game that is 60€ and said “I dont think its worth that and would buy now for 30, just to check it out”. Then I had the idea that some publishers/devs might benefit from knowing that 1-100000 people think that the game is worth X and would buy now for that price right now. In a case like today, the...
I think that makes sense for items of finite/low quantity like eBay. Then you have to make sure your offer is at least reasonable so it beats other offers. But with an unlimited resource like software you don’t have to worry about that.
As we can see, there is a small performance hit with NVIDIA App. However, it’s nowhere close to what has been reported. On our PC system, it’s around 4-6%. And that’s mostly in CPU-bound areas. For instance, in Indiana Jones which is a GPU-bound game with Path Tracing, there isn’t any performance hit at all....
I mean, the Chinese players aren’t totally wrong, support from sales IS an important metric. Swen definitely should have worded that better. But is that worth a negative review, IDK. This seems to line up with Chinese culture as a whole though, which is usually polar opposite to the West.
rampant capitalism over workers’ desires lines up with Chinese culture?
I think my tastes have remained mostly the same, it’s the industry that is losing me as a customer for two reasons:
more and more games now are based on shit that I hate - multiplayer, GaaS, micro transactions, copy and paste gameplay mechanics with new coats of paint, etc.
studios that used to make my favorite games have really gone downhill over the last decade, like Bethesda, Bioware, and maybe CDPR (hopefully the cp2077 release was just a fluke but we’ll see).
Nothing more disappointing to me than seeing a game I might enjoy… and then it’s only available on PC on Epic Games store. Why can’t it be available on Epic, Xbox game store and Steam? It’s so annoying, like you have no choice but to use Epic… which I would literally do ANYTHING not to use.
The 9800X3D just came out, so I’m looking to upgrade my 2017 PC to join the modern era, which means I’m waiting to play Baldurs Gate 3 (runs, but not ideal), Dead Space Remake (poorly optimised), Space Marine 2, Cyberpunk, Metaphor etc when I build my new rig in a couple of months....
