mandate it with full source code to participate in copyright related lawsuits of the work, and mandate all materials get posted online after the work enters public domain

for disney, the rank and file are pushing against their own bosses. the gay you're seeing is what they got away with after their bosses tried to cancel shows. I don't know about video games but if you say so I believe you about it. I wonder what internal fights are going on?

although with the Jack Thompson thing there was actual censorship afoot, and I wasn't worried after the supreme court ruled video games were protected free speech. but yes that kinda did set the stage and was why it was gamers in particular

video games being mostly men was a thing but hasn't been for over a decade now

video game journalism never really had integrity and it's gonna be a long time until we can take an honest look at it because of gamergate

Hidden missions? I gotta see those now

Despite how unlikely it may seem, even Facebook is not immune to becoming dust in the wind someday.

facebook's already past it's peak and declining. meta's lucky they own instagram because that's actually popular

I really think that normies are psychologically incapable of judging or even noticing quality. video games are just mindless entertainment they buy to not feel bored for a while, and as long as it works for that they don't care.

Unity issue an apology on Twitter for "confusion and angst" over the runtime fee policy. (nitter.net) angielski

We have heard you. We apologize for the confusion and angst the runtime fee policy we announced on Tuesday caused. We are listening, talking to our team members, community, customers, and partners, and will be making changes to the policy. We will share an update in a couple of days. Thank you for your honest and critical...

Indeed, only a legal guarantee would satisfy me. Put it in writing in all the contracts that unity is not allowed to charge per install and then we can talk

If you switch to Godot and implement a feature you needed but it didn't have, please do us a favor and take that part of the code and put it out there under the MIT license (unless I'm misremembering what license they use) it will help the next person switch easier

Also now Deva are gonna be skeptical of proprietary game engines. It's too big of a risk to develop on anything proprietary now that this is on the table as a thing that could happen. Change won't ahppen overnight but expect FOSS game engines to start getting big
