I haven’t played the OG (outside of a little bit on Xbox through the re-release) but i can definitely understand why the differences might not be for everyone, especially with all the added stuff
I like these more experimental remakes. Silent Hill 2’s Remake was the same way and it offered something new yet different which i really like. I really hope we get more of these experimental remakes
It really is, i decided to check the price on Wii U and Wii the other day just for a reference and irc it was like 20$ at max. I know they were struggling with the Wii U era, but damn. 40$ is way too big of a jump
I was going to comment the same thing. Maybe it’s just the circles i’m in, but like the only thing i’ve heard about it is the price and the performance issues on PC
The Ally Aggression being on easy was a godsend for my Grounded run of 1, because that meant if I needed too I could hide in cover and let the Allies fight while I heal/reload/etc
Completely agree on the alone encounter too. I felt it a bit with Abby’s story on Normal, specifically the segment with all the Seraphites
I definitely prefer the mix over traditional ATB, and i’m starting to get the hang of it.
I haven’t played much FF before (Played half of the remake on PS4 and then had a brush with 14 with a friend). But with how famous 7 is, i definitely know the basics of the plot
Now I’m more excited to get to Rebirth. i wasn’t aware it’s Systems are all too changed. I kind of assumed it was just more of remake and not much else
I have not unfortunately. I tried to give it a try on the Xbox Re release but just couldn’t get into it. I want to go back and give it a try though some day
I’m the kind of person that even if I don’t agree with the message of a game, I can respect and like it.
The meta aspect was something I noticed too. Maybe it is cope like you said, but the story making you feel how Ellie feels is the kind of story I love. Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes and all that. I didn’t think of the farmhouse “ending” though, I can see that though because the game officially ends at the farmhouse. So the “better ending” being there I could see, especially with them escaping alive (except for Jesse)
