It does have an ending tho. And until recently, when a 13 year old kid managed to do it, the end of the game was only achieved by machines/AI. Tho, to be fair, the ending is basically just going so far that the game stops working.
All they ever did was riff on popular (crime) movies, and they were already scraping the bottom of the bin on that with 5. What popular movies in recent times has 6 even got to be inspired by?
And yet, these days I am finding better games, made by smaller teams, for lower prices (usually between $30-40) from indie devs. The cost ain’t the reason for enshittification, and paying a higher price will not mean we get better games.
It’s also very easily modded and there are loads of graphical overhauls for it to choose from that bring it to modern levels of pretty, along with QOL tweaks, bug fixes and good balancing changes. Just remaster it yourself 🤷🏻♂️
I wonder if it would be cheaper to build my own table. I don’t care about the graphics or sounds as much as playing a good pinball table. Physically, and not via a game even if it’s a good simulation.
I sometimes feel like the only American that liked Bubsy. The biggest complaint I hear about it is that the jumping if super floaty; but that’s it’s strength! Once you get the rhythm of the game down, you’re basically Tribes style skiing through the levels. It’s awesome.
It could be the sudden and unexpected success of Hollow Knight paralyzing them the way that happened with Valhiem. Not that it’s necessarily a fault of the devs; you hit a huge success like that, there is now a weight on your shoulder to always be that good.
