Which indies did you discover and would love more people to know about? I’ll start: The Pale Beyond. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem tbh, but it’s such a good story rich game. I laughed, I cried and felt the characters struggles. If you like story rich games/ choices matter, check it out.
Kind of a random though but do you think we will ever see shows done in a more connected way? I mean as of now, all the shows are always done in secret. Why not involve fans in the process? Publish videos from the set as you film and get feedback? Publish scripts, test footage and so on. Yes, the element of surprise would be lost but wouldn’t it be nice to see how the show is made and they see the final product? And maybe even influence it a little bit? I would love something like that. What do you think?

Yeah, I don’t know. In the age of remakes, reboots and huge franchises can we really say that we watch shows for the story? Is any of the Marvel movies about the story? You always now how it will end. If you read the script of Guardians of the Galaxy would it really spoil the movie? I think those movies are actually more about ‘being involved’. Same as Star Trek or Star Wars. It’s about following, being a fan. Story is the weakest part of those movies. It’s all about CGI, action sequences and ‘fan stuff’ like callbacks, references and so on. I think showing what’s happening on the green screen wouldn’t actually spoil anything and would be really interesting to the fans.
And regarding fans ideas Sonic comes to mind. They released the trailer, fans complained and it got fixed.
But I not saying that all the shows should be made like this. For some (most?) I wouldn’t work. I’m just saying… wouldn’t it be interesting to see the entire process for a show like this?
Yes but aren’t game developer experts on gameplay balance? Why would they listen to feedback from some amateurs? It’s the same with movies. People who designed Sonic for the movie were also experts, right? Yet they listed to feedback.

I can say, unequivocally, if you’re starting a new game project, do not use Unity. If you started a project 4 months ago, it’s worth switching to something else. Unity is quite simply not a company to be trusted....
Correct me if I’m wrong but lots of game developers simply do bootcamps or short courses where they learn Unity. They don’t have background in software development and switching tools/languages will require lot of learning from them. They will only switch when using Unity will actually become unaffordable. Bigger studios that can afford to retrain people/hire new experts can change tools like that, smaller studios will just keep using Unity.
Hi there, do you know if there is a way to disable laugh tracks from sitcoms? I really would like to rewatch some shows like King of Queens but I can’t bear the constant laughing in the background. Cheers
I think the best way would be to re-record the audio. Laugh track usually overlaps the dialog a bit so it’s impossible to get rid of it. You just have to find some actors and have them read the script. The casts of most sitcons are not that big. You will need like what? 10 people? You can probably do it with your friends. Then just add some basic sound effects like door closing and cars starting. A bit of work but doable.
Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.
Pretty much all the new AAA games. Kind of lost interested the moment games stopped being innovative. It’s nice to have super dooper realistic looking game and millions of small details but I still haven’t seen a game that would really improve on the game play in the last 20 years. They are still full of simple rules and mechanics. For example, 20 years ago it was common to have the “enemy spotted you but just hide and don’t move for 3 seconds and they will move on” rule in games and it pisses me off when new AAA games do it. Modern games are full of this shit. “If you do A in situation B, C will happen”. Just learn the rules and beat the game. There are more rules, more details, animations are nicer but I still find it boring. It’s still just a bunch of fixed rules, NPCs still move like robots, you can still see the algorithms behind everything. I prefer to play an small indie game that actually tries something new than AAA game that tries to build ‘realistic’ world and fails at it.
