I’m far from an expert with mod development, but this seems like the best way out of the mess they’ve put themselves in. I think modders would come in droves if they made it really easy

I’ve been playing video games my whole life and I loved the first one, but I’m never able to “git gud”

I play these games as long as I can before my skill ROI becomes basically 0, so I’m one of those people who would really like an easy mode

I honestly miss the era of “okay” movie games. They were never great, but games don’t need to be “great” to be fun

Pretty much any competitive online game. It’s not that I don’t like competing. I just feel bad for the others if I win and I feel bad for losing if I lose

I loved that game and thought about this a lot. I would argue Pokémon itself is just a Final Fantasy clone with the selectable party coming from the bestiary

It’s also just an extremely dangerous platform. They have a stock market, game mode development with children employing children (clearly neither one understands employment laws), and unsurprisingly a ton of pedophiles

It seems to be dependent on the game for me. Some just seem like they should move smoother (like Akham Asylum on PC)

I’m not sure if this fits here, but that’s the main difference between “100% of profit” vs “100% of revenue”

The only thing I’m not a fan of is “base building”. I’m just not creative enough

They either look bland and functional, or just plain bad

I don’t think anybody claimed they could do it “at the drop of a hat”. They’re saying it would be financially beneficial for these game developers to take the financial hit to jump ship from Unity because people will be less likely to buy Unity games

I’m not going to give any personal information about myself, but you are WAY off with your assumption about my knowledge regarding both the development side and business side of these kind of choices. It’s what I do

I’m not doubting this for a second, but the latest patch made the PS5 performance significantly better

I still have that one for 360! I was never very good, but it’s always a ton of fun to play

In my uneducated opinion, it feels like the gaming industry advanced past “quarter-eating” mechanics and have reverse engineered their way back there. The rubber-banding doesn’t feel fun/competitive anymore. Even playing solo just feels like it’s just trying to give you a taste of success in an attempt to get you to spend real money. Those of us who won’t ever “pay-to-win” just see an arbitrarily difficult or awkward game. For example, one of the later ones feels like it changes the player speed drastically based on who IT wants to do better now

I’ve never been able to get too far into FromSoft games because of the difficulty. Is AC6 as bad as their others?
