AngryCommieKender,

Ok, so a blue username normally means OP, a green one means mod. What the heck is a red username?

AngryCommieKender, (edited )

The image of low power Link charging in and beating Gannon has me remembering that streamer that made it like 90 95 hours into the game before triggering the tutorial of Breath of the Wild

AngryCommieKender,

Fair enough, may have been staged, I’ve never played the game. Last Zelda game I played was Majora’s Mask

Suggestions? Games that won't make me feel alone? angielski

I need some suggestions on what to play. Single Player games only. Most of the games make me feel lonely and alone. In most of the games, the protagonist has to deal with the problems on their own, like Control, Crysis, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War (I liked the original 6 more than the new ones, even though the new ones had...

AngryCommieKender,

Dyson Sphere Project, even without the multiplayer mod you are “connected” to the rest of the player base with the Galaxy View.

Factorio, and Satisfactory scratch a similar itch, but on smaller scales. IIRC, both of those games have multiplayer built in.

AngryCommieKender,

I haven’t played in a few years, have they done any of that in EvE Online?

AngryCommieKender,

Most MMOs have a steam launcher, they tend to work better than the native launcher from my experience with them

AngryCommieKender,

Stellaris for me, at least in those games it’s not instant death, lol.

I did however close the pop-up to go see what it was saying before agreeing to it.

AngryCommieKender,

Ahh, I didn’t bother to check, I just know that I have MWO, STO, SWTOR, and could play EvE through steam. I figured blizzard would eventually jump on the bandwagon.

AngryCommieKender,

Looks like the phone app Whiteout Survival ripped these guys off. I’ll have to wishlist this one.

AngryCommieKender,

Silver Surfer for the NES is way harder than TMNT. It’s possible, though I’ve never done it, to beat TMNT. AFAIK , Silver Surfer is actually possible to beat, but basically no one has done it.

Gacha games are out of control. Gambling shouldn't be so widespread angielski

As someone who grew up playing games like World of Warcraft and other AAA titles, I’ve seen how the gaming industry has evolved over the years—and not always for the better. One of the most disturbing trends is the rise of gacha games, which are, at their core, thinly veiled gambling systems targeting younger players. And I...

AngryCommieKender,

I wouldn’t call Roblox itself a gacha game. That category is the ones where you are trying to collect all the heroes in the game and level them up with rare loot. AFAIK they generally, if not always, involve loot crates that you have to purchase.

Roblox has its own problems. As spelled out by People Make Games in these two videos.

youtu.be/_gXlauRB1EQ?si=ngjtGwhA5JH5FcEL

youtu.be/vTMF6xEiAaY?si=u1z_LYfOYrOMlUDd

Roblox claims to teach kids how to make their own games. At this point from what I’ve heard, I would suggest Unity Engine before Roblox, and I wouldn’t recommend Unity after their pricing debacle.

Watch the videos, and have a serious discussion with his parents about it before you get him that game platform.

AngryCommieKender,

Well yeah, why develop for an actively hostile OS?

AngryCommieKender,

My family would play this as a group. We napped at least the first 12 levels, maybe more. My father loved making maps of old video games. I’m certain that his map of the thieve’s cave in Adventure is still floating around the house somewhere.

Can anyone suggest some good co-op games for two people? angielski

Hello all! My buddy and I finally finished up Baldur’s Gate 3 this week and we are not left with a giant co-op game shaped whole in our hearts. It was such an incredible experience and it was truly even more fun running through it together. We are excited to hop into another game, but we have no idea what to play. We’ve...

Day 31 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

Today’s game is LA Noire. Playing Fallout New Vegas put me in a mood for that era, but i was having issues getting NV to run, so i launched LA Noire instead and played that since i had shelved it for a bit after one of the cases.

AngryCommieKender,

Do you switch games daily? How do you not get lost on where you are/ what you are doing?

AngryCommieKender,

Nope. I’m not capable of getting the three timed achievements, and I’m not uninstalling my mods.

AngryCommieKender,

I don’t think that’s possible. I’m fairly certain that unlike free cell, solitaire has unwinnable hands.

AngryCommieKender,

You’d probably be able to 100% Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. Only about an hour or two to finish the game, and another 15-30 minutes to figure out the two extra achievements.

AngryCommieKender,

I got 100% on Final Fantasy X-II. Don’t. Just don’t.

AngryCommieKender,

Which Lavos fight? There are several.

AngryCommieKender,

Gotcha. I know where/when you are. Have fun, and party like it’s 1999 :)

AngryCommieKender,

No real reason for GOG to take center stage on this one. The reason the GOG version sold so well is that it doesn’t include the latest patch from Bethesda, so FO:L works better on Windows with the GOG distro rather than the Steam distro.

AngryCommieKender,

Thanks to the community, you can download all of the RCT1, 2, and expansion campaigns in RCT3

AngryCommieKender,

I don’t know if the '93 version of Doom will do it, but it probably will. I installed Dark Forces on a machine several years ago, and was happily playing for about 20-30 minutes when I suddenly got motion sickness. Those older games run at a lower fps, and apparently my eyes really don’t like that.

AngryCommieKender,

I think Doom guy may have more anger issues than Gordon Freeman

AngryCommieKender,

Bandit Green text?

AngryCommieKender, (edited )

Thanks!

Edit: I kinda feel sorry for all the bandits, townspeople, and guards that I massacred in Morrowind, and Skyrim now.

Edit 2: Shoulda flown to Morrowind! Fucking roflmao

AngryCommieKender,

Which editon is it based on? I’m assuming not 3.0 or 3.5 since you called the item system basic. I’m waiting for a good sale before I get BG3

AngryCommieKender,

You have to be willfully ignorant

At this point I’m convinced that MBA classes are really just training willful ignorance, in favor of “line go up” strategies.

AngryCommieKender, (edited )

Screw Hitler. If I invent a time machine, Jack Welch will get a tommy gun to the back of the head before he can lay off one worker, or gut a single workers protection.

Edit: autocorrect got me

AngryCommieKender,

I have one playthrough that I’ve completed 8/10 spheres on the first star, and everything is automated to the point that I could manage to build all 640 spheres, but… That would take me 1.5 hours to gather the resources, turn on the rail guns and rockets for 30 minutes, and shut it down again to gather resources for the next sphere.

Before you ask, that 30 minutes doesn’t include pausing the game and adding in the next shell, but after the first system, I could copy paste each other systems shells. The 30 minutes is building the frame and capturing all the solar sails. I generally average ≈100 solar sails wasted per shell, hence the stages.

What games do you recommend for my girlfriend? angielski

My girlfriend has never really gamed. But she’s now forced to move less than she would like to (health problem) and she’s getting bored. I was thinking of introducing her to a game or two that we could play together. She’s not the real action game type, and seeing as she has no experience with controller/mouse and keyboard...

AngryCommieKender,

Portal and Portal 2 are excellent “introduction to gaming,” games. Memorable, fun, funny, and most importantly the entire game teaches you the skills needed for a large percentage of other games.

Factorio, Satisfactory, and Dyson Sphere Program are all good factory building games.

Terraria and Minecraft can be surprisingly engaging with multiplayer.

AngryCommieKender,

Unfortunately I missed out there. I only managed to pick up P2 last year, and no one that I live near is a gamer.

AngryCommieKender,

Well, penny stocks exist. It’s possible that Tencent suddenly liquidating their 30% share could bottom out the share value temporarily. If the market decided that Tencent liquidating their holdings was a sign that the company was going under, that should drive the price down, correct?

AngryCommieKender,

First PC game? Math Blaster on a Macintosh 128K

First console game? Super Mario Bros.

First Board Game? Parcheesi/Monopoly

Also was included in my parents D&D group once I was 5 or 6

AngryCommieKender,

I saw some arguments over the last few years. It seems that the gaming industry focused so hard on good graphics that they forgot how to make the rest of the games. Honestly some faithful re-releases with updated graphics of ancient 8 and 16 bit games, would probably sell fairly well.

AngryCommieKender,

They looked better than in HD, but no one in their right mind thought that was peak performance. It was just better than anything we’d seen so far.

AngryCommieKender,

Who among you hasn’t told your construction bots to stick an entire base into chests?

What are some hidden indie gems nobody knows about? angielski

Which indies did you discover and would love more people to know about? I’ll start: The Pale Beyond. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem tbh, but it’s such a good story rich game. I laughed, I cried and felt the characters struggles. If you like story rich games/ choices matter, check it out.

AngryCommieKender,

I would imagine that most articles about Chinese Indie Games are written in Mandarin, so it’s unlikely you’d see them without the ability to read Chinese.

AngryCommieKender,

Weird. IDK

AngryCommieKender,

Monster Rancher. Great little gem on the PS1

AngryCommieKender,

Too bad I don’t have my CD collection anymore…

AngryCommieKender,

Sweet! Good to know, I may pick that up then.

AngryCommieKender,

Painkiller. To quote Yahtzee Croshaw:

“All I really need to tell you is that one of the weapons shoots shurikens and lightning. I wish I had made that up. It shoots shurikens and lightning! This gun could only be cooler if it had tits and was on fire.”

It’s a cheesy Doom-like game from the Quake 2/3 era
