filipoff, w A Quiet Place: Day One (Trailer 2) – A Thrilling and Emotional Prelude to the Apocalypse

"Absolutely gripping! This trailer gives me chills. Can't wait to delve into the emotional journey leading up to 'A Quiet Place' apocalypse."

inkican, w 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' Review

What's the next movie gonna be: "Suburbs of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Solar System of the Galaxy of the Apes'?

filipoff, w 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' Review

'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' i love the movie climax

gamije2220, w 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' Review

Nice Movie

inkican, w Must watch classic SciFi movies?

Ooh, I have a list:

  • Looker - directed by Michael "Jurassic Park" Chricton. The first ever film to create 3D shading with a computer that produced the first ever CGI human character was the model Cindy (Susan Dey).
  • Westworld (1973) - also written by Michael Chricton
  • Mac and Me - It's a movie that's SO UNBELIEVEABLY BAD IT MUST BE SEEN TO UNDERSTAND HOW BAD IT IS. After you watch it, you'll understand why Paul Rudd tortured Conan O'Brien with this famous clip.
  • The Last Starfighter - another cheeseball 80s knock off of Star Wars. Also pioneered the use of CGI
  • Enemy Mine - Dennis Quaid bonds with an alien enemy and eventually helps him bear children. Directed by Wolfgang 'Neverending Story' Petersen. You have been warned.
  • The Quiet Earth - A scientist awakens to find himself alone in the world. In a desperate attempt to search for others, he finds only two who have their own agenda.
  • The Stuff - A delicious, mysterious goo that oozes from the earth is marketed as the newest dessert sensation, but the tasty treat rots more than teeth when zombie-like snackers who only want to consume more of the strange substance at any cost begin infesting the world. Co-stars Paul "Goodfellas" Sorvino
  • Miracle Mile - What would you do if you accidentally found out that the world was ending in a little over an hour? Features Anthony "ER" Edwards

Thus absolutely want written by an AI, was it.

EmptyRadar, w Incredible Mark Hamill Cult Classic Lands On 4K Blu-Ray This Summer

I love that this movie is always billed as "starring Mark Hamill", but he's a supporting character.

reddig33, w Dune 3: The Problem With Adapting Alia From the Books

No one can beat creepy overdubbed Alicia Witt from the David Lynch version.

Rolando,

I really tried to like the new Dune movies but I couldn’t seem to care about any of the characters. The old movies weren’t as well made, but I cared more about the characters.

ElderWendigo, w The Next Star Wars Movie Could Finally Explain the Galaxy's Most Mysterious Planet

Nope, I’ve been tricked enough times by that domain. They’ll just repeat the click bait headline for one paragraph/sentence. Then a full screen ad or three. Then they’ll explain what Star Wars is. Then an ad. Then they’ll explain what The Mandalorian and Grogu are. Then an ad. Then they’ll rephrase the click bait title as a question. Then an ad. Then they’ll finally get around to doing a bad job of plagiarizing a mediocre reddit comment thread, but word it as a hypothesis. That usually takes a sentence or two, but sometimes they just skip this part. Then an ad. Then some non-committal conclusion. This conclusion can usually be reused for any similar articles about the subject, in this case Star Wars. Then more ads of equal or greater screen scrolling than the length of the entire article with ads that you just read.

inkican,

Content creators gotta eat too - don't complain about necessary evils.

Is that what they’re calling it?

inkican,

Has a 'Smokey and the Bandit' ring to it.

wolfshadowheart, w The dirty secret to making sci-fi believable
@wolfshadowheart@kbin.social avatar

My friend pointed this out for the recent live action Avatar show. Their clothes were pretty much immaculate the entire time

Cwilliams,

They also had on way too much makeup. Like, how am I suppose to believe that they were flying on Appa that whole time?

kosure, w Apple gives For All Mankind another season and USSR spin-off Star City
@kosure@kbin.social avatar

I'm torn. More For All Mankind is good, but the Soviet stuff we've seen already is a big bummer for me. (not to get into spoilers) Generally I like a paranoid thriller, but not if my faves are tied up in it!

Minarble, w 20 sci-fi series that need a TV adaptation

Just give me a Judge Dredd mini series with Karl Urban.

inkican,

And a special episode where Karl Urban executes special guest star Keith Urban

Anticorp, w Jonathan Nolan Still Intends to Finish Westworld Despite HBO's Cancellation - IGN

It seemed finished to me. What more is there?

Stovetop,

Not sure if you watched up to the end of season 4, but it ends on a cliffhanger. They were building to a final season that would answer the “Can humanity and AI coexist in the same world?” question that the series had been asking since the beginning.

inkican, w Astrophysicist believes he's cracked the code for time travel
