@elieuw I’ve also mastered pushing both boys with no hands on handlebars…😂 But that’s just a party trick, not doing it very often as it’s plain stupid and dangerous…😂
You kind of learn crowd control… Kids might be sometimes difficult as hell…🥹
@elieuw This time of year you can see who’s an avid bicycle commuter. Not many people cycling right now because of the worsening weather.
I was speaking in general. On a nice weekend it can be difficult to keep everyone safe on a busy bike lane, as we can go in greater numbers - my wife, boys and a bike trailer (we have 3 kids) and there are a lot of Sunday cyclists and wannabe bike lane racers…
@ssamulczyk I was trying to be funny, which often fails with written text (and it always sound hilarious in my mind).
I find this time of year a much more pleasant period for cycling, the temperature is down, there are fewer cyclists and I like working against the wind. Obviously rain, snow, storm etc are the downsides.
I usually avoid weekend cycling unless it’s early morning (before 8 am is perfect) to avoid crowded Komoot routes and bar racers.
@elieuw I know! It's just me getting the jokes, but still replying kind of seriously...😅 I don't mind the temperature, but the wind and rain, especially occurring together, I despise...
I'm a quite avid night cyclist... The city is empty and if I manage to find company, double the fun for me.
Apart of that I ride every working day in the morning, as I have to get out with the kids either way.
@elieuw Mine are still young (8, 5, 1) and unspoiled by modern "technology". They don't know what a shithole internet is and they actually prefer and enjoy outdoors.
We will try to avoid screens as long as possible, while building awareness how useful but also dangerous it might be.
For the time being they enjoy climbing, ice skating, cycling, Lego and playgrounds. In a few years the oldest one will destroy me on a bicycle (he can already maintain ~20km/h), the middle on is building up!😅
