I just started sailing again and all the torrents i want for my fav bands are stuck at 0. So i’ve started getting songs one by one from that website that takes them from deezer i found on here.
MP3tag is a great app for fixing ID tags on audio files. You can pull info from online databases, add album art, add tags based on file names, or rename files based on tags. www.mp3tag.de/en/
Currently jailbreak is possible if you have firmware 9.0.0 and below, to my understanding. You can look up videos, but most people recommend text guides as they are easier to update and keep current. For PS4 it matters less since nothing has changed since the current jailbreak released.
Check out something like smart dns proxy, it works for all the uk tv channels with streaming services. It’s much more reliable than VPNs for that particular use case.
I’ve spent all today and yesterday trying to get this working with PureVPN and QBitTorrent and it hasn’t been working much at all 😭. It’s been painfully slow when it works at all, which has been rare. Although it has been doing the job of hiding the Docker container IP so that’s good, and it makes me think it’s something minor, like port forwarding not working because of PureVPN or something off with my settings, or it’s a qBittorrent issue, or Docker and Linux inexperience.
Admittedly troubleshooting has been slow because I’m super new to Linux and Docker and keep running into permission and file system issues. Running the VPN and torrent straight in my computer was way easier, but I’d really love to be able to run Plex and a torrent client on the same computer on at the same time with Plex not going through the VPN and the torrent client going through it, which is what this seems great for.
I’ve set it up with PrivadoVPN without issues, using Docker. Gluetun in its own docker container and Qbittorrent in its own, with network mode set to use the Gluetun contaoner. Haven’t tested downloading a lot though. Gluetun has some good docs how to set it up in Docker.
Maybe it’s my VPN provider then. I’ll have to try it with another one. I’ve followed so many of those documents. Do you use Port Forwarding with PrivadoVPN?
Yes but it might be only a batter of time until they catch up. Keep to the main rule about no direct links even under b64. I am too poor for lawyers yo
Not that this was one of your listed options, but have you considered setting up your own Plex/Jellyfin/Emby server along with the *arrs and adding her to that? You can’t get much more snappy and Netflix-like than that.
I can’t imagine this would offer a very pleasant viewing experience for a first timer when it relies on stuff like YTS, RARBG (they need to update their page apparently), KAT, EZTV, and TPB. I can see the potential for her to be bombarded with a bunch of fakes and low quality rips.
Not exactly what you’ve asked for but you can download something like lidarr and plug it into your spotify recommendations and let it go. you’ll wind up with a huge library of everything you like to listen to.
Thanks, this sounds like a great way to start building a library and might actually be more effective than downloading massive torrents, especially as it claims to handle metadata and tagging effectively. Definitely will give it a try!
Lidarr is definitely worth a try (and also worth figuring out docker containers for).
Lidarr can be very effective at building a library, but be prepared for it to grab a bunch of stuff you maybe didn’t know you wanted and sometimes struggle to get that one specific album you need to go complete a set. It takes quite a bit of fiddling to get it going on it’s own. I’ve never really let it have free reign. I make it add torrents paused so that I can approve them individually and I don’t let it touch the part of my collection that I consider final and good. For example, I’d never want it to over write the stuff I ripped from my personal collection of physical media. So far as I can tell Lidarr is still also not the right tool if you have or want a bunch of live recordings or bootlegs.
I still buy a bunch of music, but now it’s almost all purchased as directly from the artists as I can reasonably manage; like live show merch tables, band websites, Bandcamp, etc. It wouldn’t be odd for me to grab a rip from Lidarr at the same time I buy a copy in my preferred physical format from the artist. Don’t forget to add that new stuff’s metadata to musicbrainz.org if it doesn’t already exist. Past me has definitely saved present me some hassle by doing this when I wanted to reorganize my library.
