Obfuscation got more and more useless, as there was a serious pressure that AFAIK even tools popped up to specifically de-obfuscate Minecraft.

It’s not about me liking it or not. I don’t even have that game. The point is that one should play games fitting ones abilities. There are people who will master this game, like I mastered Elite about forty years ago. Complaining about a game being difficult is either they overestimated their abilities, or they lack perseverance.

For the rest, there is always tictactoe or animal crossing.

It’s Steam sale and I’m looking for chill farming/building games that do not look like Anime. The setting is secondary, because I’ve no idea what’s out there. Can be in space, historical, fantasy, anything really and I’ll have a look. I just don’t like Anime style and forced cuteness....

After being in development for over 10 years, Hytale, a sandbox game from the Hypixel Studios team with support from Riot, has officially been cancelled. Hypixel Studios’ CEO, Noxy, announced the cancellation on X on June 23, with the official Hytale forums following suit.

For some time I used Minecraft as a mindnumbing tool. I dug a huge underground structure with stone pickaxes. I had some chests of wood down there to make new pickaxes, chests, and torches, and dug an underground space of several square kilometers, 30ish layers high.

The key problem for the Switch 2 will be to compete with the Steam Deck. While a good Steam Deck is still a bit pricier, there are a myriad of titles, and the vast majority of them are much cheaper than the 70-90 price point targeted by Nintendo.

We will see. The big advantage of the SD is the ginormus library of games that already exist, the advantage of the S2 is that they have the Nintendo exclusive titles that have a good and solid fan base. With the S1, it was a no-brainer, the other consoles were limited in their game selection with a small hand of exclusives, and they were more expensive than the S1. The S2 is not far from the SD in terms of price. So this time, there actually is competition.

That might be true. For party games or Animal Crossing, the Switch is still the top choice. For the non-casual gamer, though, it is way to limited.

I’m using a software that sometimes throws an info requester when loading a project. And this requester can occasionally end up in the background, depending on what I am just doing. The other requester “Loading Project XYZ” meanwhile stays in the foreground and does not proceed, as it waits for the other requester to come back with an OK.

Two games on the C64: “The Castles of Dr. Creep” and “Elite”. The first was a jump-and-run platform game with incredibly simple and lowres graphics, but perfect for two cooperating players. The second was the absolute classic space game by Braben and Bell.
