TheOakTree,

Interesting that the screen has such an aggressive curve, but the scanlines and text box are relatively straight.

I’m not really understanding why this portrait looks this way… Is the black blob on the bottom left his bent leg? If it is his bent leg, what’s the tan colored bit at the bottom? Or is the black blob some random giant pouch on his hip, alongside the other more pouch-like object on his hip? Is the bow being held close to his body (arm bent?) or does he have a short left arm?

So many questions…

TheOakTree,

Shouldn’t FF16 also be on this list? Given that FF7 Rebirth will almost definitely see a PC port, I don’t think the ongoing development of an FF16 PC port should exclude it from the list.

TheOakTree,

Played some Crisis Core FF7 (PSP) during down time on a road trip. I forgot how clunky the game feels, but it’s entertaining enough.

I’d like to see how the remaster compares… According to what I’ve heard, the cutscenes are upscales of the original FMVs, which are both odd and intriguing.

TheOakTree,

What, do you want to live forever?!?

TheOakTree,

Does that make pixel dungeon an actual roguelike? Never played the original rogue.

TheOakTree,

I really enjoyed Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS, but I never hear anyone talk about it. It’s not an fps, though.

TheOakTree,

Q

TheOakTree,

I’ve been looking into building my own leverless for Tekken, but I want to make sure it’s PS5 compatible. What microcontroller did you use for this project? And thank you for the small boost in determination, I needed it.

TheOakTree,

I play on PC but was looking for PS5 compatability regardless… I eyed up the UFB-Fusion earlier…

As for the case, I have access to lasercut acrylic on my campus so I will try to design a stacked acrylic body (have experience from making keyboards). Still stuck between implementing arcade buttons with loose wiring or if I should make a “daughter”-board PCB with low profile mechanical switch contacts.

TheOakTree,

I’ve been thinking about the same thing. I know that the chairs I’d like to get are like $700-1000, but I can’t justify that cost while not consistently making money (full-time school for now).

I do spend a lot of time sitting at my desk, so I guess if you break down the price by hours in use, it’s not ridiculous to pay so much for a chair that lasts a decade.

Hopefully I can find a solid refurbish for around $400 eventually… but probably not.

TheOakTree,

A single player game that is exclusive to streaming would just be gone forever the instant it gets delisted.

I agree with this, but what does it have to do with GeForce Now? They don’t make any games exclusive on this platform… nor do they have rights to many other games that are exclusives. Beyond that, none of the games on GeForce Now are owned by the user because the games are available through Steam or Epic mostly.

TheOakTree,

I’ve only had issues connecting in Helldivers once so far, aside from the quick matching. On the other hand, some of the friends I’ve played with have been having constant problems. Not sure what’s up with that.

TheOakTree,

Those sweepstakes rewards are pretty sweet though… Capcom hanafuda cards??? Though US is not eligible for it.

TheOakTree,

I don’t NEED fast travel, but I would prefer if games still had an in-universe method of traversing from, say, the Easternmost region and the Westernmost region (i.e. a train, boat, horse carriage, etc.). I just don’t like spending significant amounts of time running back and forth through areas I’ve already discovered all the content in.

I appreciate fast travel in games like Kingdom Come Deliverance, where the fast travel still accounts for the time and resources spent.

TheOakTree,

I am certainly interested in the 2nd game. Should I play the 1st game before then? I heard mostly good things about DD1.

TheOakTree,

Lies of P is a solid game! It really clicked for me after the 4th main boss. Heavy, slow weapons seems to be more useful in a second playthrough, and I’m finding some NG+ fights easier than the original NG fights.

Aside from that, I’ve been playing M&B Bannerlord with lots of mods. Not an amazing game, per se, but still very nostalgic for me.

TheOakTree,

I didn’t know it was released on Mac at all! I hope you enjoy it if you pick it up. The game gets pretty hard, but if you are willing to learn the boss patterns it’s a ton of fun.

TheOakTree,

BG3 campaign with a friend, and I alao just started Lies of P.

Lies of P is fun, but something about the attack telegraphing feels… off.

TheOakTree,

For anyone still following this thread in confusion, the Limited Edition (LE) card is Intel’s equivalent of a Founder’s Edition card. Intel stopped producing LE cards, but their AIB partners are still producing their own SKUs.

TheOakTree,

As someone who almost always plays mouse and keyboard on PC, I had a few struggles with Convergence feeling like it was made console-first.

I understand why, but it just makes me want to go play Hollow Knight or something.

TheOakTree,

Elden Ring m&k was a million times better of an experience than original Dark Souls on m&k. What a nightmare.

I think I just expect metroidvanias to feel snappy and robust, and Convergence on m&k did not live up to that standard.

TheOakTree,

By the time I started playing Forza Horizon 5, I had already completed a vast majority of the content in FH4. Once I started FH5 I found myself doing a lot less missions/races and instead just hopping in a pretty sounding or nicely handling or gorgeous looking car and seeing if I can drift some corner or launch myself off a ramp and land on a piece of road.

It just feels good.

TheOakTree,

Agreed. I miss Tribes :(

Hi-Rez bought Tribes from Sierra back in 2010 so they likely own the IP, unfortunately.

TheOakTree,

I don’t really understand the purpose of showing FSR2 vs FXAA/MSAA with still frames… FSR2 struggles most with motion and thin/dense high-contrast areas, none of which are showcased in the screenshots, so of course FSR2 is going to look better.

TheOakTree,

You know, BG3 is a great experience overall, but I don’t think it’s a great gaming experience. I’ve experienced at least a handful of softlocks that forced me to rewind a decent amount of playtime… and I don’t really think I’m playing in a way that should break the game.

TheOakTree,

At 1440p my 6750XT is really chugging through power (~210W peak), but temps are staying low. It’s pretty interesting, but I prefer to limit the game to 75fps to save a bit on power.

I hate how much my brain starts remembering interesting stuff when I finally sit down to play a video game angielski

This might sound super weird, but whenever I actually find time to go “I have like 4 hours to spare, might as well play a game,” my brain just goes “hey, remember that movie you wanted to watch?” or “hey, remember that thing you wanted to wikipedia?” or “Might as well pay rent now, it’s due in 3 days.”...

TheOakTree,

Close the windows and doors, turn off your PC.

What if I game on my PC ;-;

TheOakTree,

So, a sheer dedication to the memeage.

Bravo!

TheOakTree,

Piggybacking your comment to mention that for single player games on PC, setting CheatEngine’s “speedhack” to 0x multiplier will effectively pause many games, albeit this does eventually crash some games.

I use it on a toggle hotkey to go get water, let the dogs out, take out my laundry, sign for a delivery, etc. when playing games with no pause system.

TheOakTree,

Hijacking top comment:

Thinking of picking up Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen ($4.99), Okami HD ($9.99) and maybe Spyro Reignited Trilogy ($15.99) from the eShop.

Anything I should be wary about regarding performance on the Switch?

TheOakTree,

Used physical copies for older flagship titles (SM Odyssey, BoTW, etc.) can sometimes be found for cheap online! I bought most of my favorite games this way, even if I owned the digital copy.

TheOakTree,

Well of course, I’m not expecting it to run like my desktop lol

TheOakTree,

I just want Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima, and FFXVI on PC. The first is a wash, the second might be coming soon, and the third needs a year to be ported.

Pretty decent mix of situations, I guess.

TheOakTree,

You can play with 3 AI heisters, or you can go in solo.

Source: I spent a lot of time figuring out routing for solo stealth heists back when PD2 was more popular.
