“I’m 39 and a single dad to three girls with special needs, but five years ago I quit my job and started pursuing my lifelong dream of being a game developer. This metroidvania styled RPG with roguelite elements is my dream come true. Here’s a short clip of the gameplay.”
Shitty 8-bit sprites jiggle on the screen
Reddit: OMG! I’m literally crying right now as I buy this. It’s so good!
Today’s screenshot is some more Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I did 2 chapters today (that’s how you know it’s a special occasion) and finally caught up to where i did when i first borrowed this game from my public library....
I’ve tried two times to get into No Man’s Sky, because the concept is exactly something I would enjoy. Every single time I get stuck in the tutorial looking for some fucking broken ship on the other side of the planet and an inventory of random minerals.
For context : have no idea how they found about it, but I love that they are illuminating indie games. And VICE.com has 12 million monthly readers. This is insane for me , because for a long time I was struggling for the game to be noticed. (If you want to follow how development of the game is going, a simple wishlist on Steam...
The blatant ads there were getting insane though. I love how you are sharing your well earned recognition, but many times on Reddit it was, “My daughter died of cancer three years ago and I quit my job and used coding as therapy, three years later, I have my parting gift inspired by her love of turtles ready to share with the world!”
Insert half-baked $5 game made in a few weeks
It was so obvious they were creating fictions to push shovelware.
It’s a great game with a very high skill ceiling, but the MMR and team balancing was absolute garbage. It was very rare that it was a close match. You usually clapped or got clapped.
Today’s game is Red Dead Online. While picking the screenshot i had the genius idea to crop the picture to help hide the UI it for people who like to guess (only took me 174 days to figure it out). Though for read dead i guess the idea is kind of null due to how recognizable the graphics are....
Today’s game is Zomboid. I’m finding it hard to let go of Dead Money (fully intended). Me and my friend continued the story of Cable and Jerry tonight instead....
I’m just going to say it, Adventures of Link is objectively a horrible fucking game with apparently no direction. I’ve sunk 50-100 hours on the original Zelda. Maybe 5 on the sequel? 4 of them trying to find a silver lining.
The dev says this is one of three big announcements. One could possibly be a release date for the mobile version, but I’m not sure what the third could be.
So I usually browse the internet at random and sometimes stumble upon some interesting games. Today as I was going to sleep however, I remember I saw a game that I cannot for the life of me find the name again. Not even in my search history (as I regularly wipe those). Can anyone help me find it again? Here is what I know:...
I released my first game on Steam and got rid of impostor syndrome!
My first game Mushy Score is out on Steam! I have been creating games since I was a child but never felt like a real game dev. Now I finally have a game that I can show to other people.
Mushy Score is a 2D Roguelike where you fight against endless waves of enemies. Collect points and try to get a high score! I am super exited for the release !
Not all of us came from stable backgrounds. My father lost everything we owned when I was in the Army because he couldn’t stop gambling and didn’t pay our storage unit… My entire fucking Magic the Gathering collection. I had power 9 and a full duel lands set, many many decks. Not to mention all my consoles and games.
I tried to like The Finals but zero sbmm and only one or possibly two competitive builds made the game boring. I’m not grinding 200 hours to unlock shit that actually affects playability.
I was pretty hyped for the new prince of persia game (the lost crown), but come to find out it’s only available on ubisoft’s proprietary launcher or epic games. Nope, and nope....
I think the worst one I’ve seen recently was a note taking app on Android. Developer made a glorified PDF reader you could write on and wanted $10 to use the fucking app annually. I hope that dev ends up homeless and broken.
The thought came to mind after reading a recent post about Baldurs Gate 3 here but it reminded me of the Japense only PSX game Mizzurna Falls where if you don’t perform a certain action early in the game you are prevented from getting a true ending. While this might not be a traditional soft lock because you can still progress...
The original Neverwinter Nights, you could kill main story NPCs and lock yourself from progressing. If you saved after this without realizing your mistake because you’re dumb, you have to restart.
Also, the original pre-order Ocarina of Time, if you did the keys on the water temple in the wrong order, it made the temple nearly impossible. Data sleuths have found a way to progress, but 14 year old me spent 20 hours trying to figure it out and quit the game.
