The song and dance number Micheal and George do in honor of Henry stealing a lute for them, and also doing their chores in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

They would have profited making GTA:O free to play, right from the get go.

Becoming Thane of Whiterun happens so quickly, just so you can use your one Get Out of Jail Free card to kill Nazeem without any consequences.

Every single time I go to Solitude the first time, that scene where the dude is getting beheaded always gets fucked up because a dragon is always attacking the city and then I spend the rest of the game carrying around every single Talos amulet I accidentally picked up because I can’t finish the quest to release them from Quest Item purgatory since Greta almost always dies. 😬

I think the term “open world” is mostly meaningless these days. Skyrim, for example, is called an open world game. But… It’s not? At least not by the definition that “open world” originally meant, which literally was just a continuous game world with no loading screens between areas.

Now it just kinda means “game with big outside map.” Unless I can walk into a building without seeing a load screen, I don’t consider it to be truly open world.

Dark Souls is a true open world game, even though it’s not big or has vast open fields, while, again, Skyrim is not because going into a cave, or a house, or even a major city, requires loading a new level, breaking up the world.

I didn’t really like the games when they were the new hotness and think the format of Arceus is way, way better.

GTA 6's delay doesn't mean the games industry's in trouble - it's already dead (www.eurogamer.net) angielski

I saw someone, somewhere, saying something like this recently: it’s always easier to play the role of doomsayer than the optimist, because far fewer people seem to care if you’re wrong when you’re predicting something will fail....

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

(I know he apparently didn’t actually say that. Sssshhhhh)

Just change Miyamoto’s face with Kojima’s. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dwarf Fortress. Not even just my favorite indie game, but favorite game ever.

After Oblivion, I wonder if they would announce it and release it at the same time, too.

Those systems are literally designed to be psychologically addictive and prey on those weakest to such tactics. It’s not stupidity; it’s literal brain washing via Pavlovian response.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

This sounds similar to another game I’ve seen (never played) that you are trapped in a security closet and trying to assist another person in both freeing you and escaping the dungeon you both find yourselves in using the door locks and CCTV cameras and things of that nature that you have access to in your prison. I think it even came before Five Nights at Freddy’s, but I don’t remember the name of the game.

In a way, the game play ends up being like Lemmings or ICO, where you’re solving a puzzle indirectly for another character to get beyond.

Do you think Square Enix should remake other Final Fantasy entries? angielski

Seems like a goldmine of content for them to work on for the next decade+. Plenty of people will never experience these worlds or stories due to the turn-based combat, so giving them the Remake treatment could be the only way an audience ever finds them....

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

I would like 3/6 to get the FF7 treatment, especially since it would be cool to see in 3D.

The other obvious choice to remake that isn’t final fantasy would be Chrono Trigger, but that would just be fucking with perfection.

Most of my “PS5” games are actually PS4 games with extra features/enhancements when played on the PS5.

I own only 1 game that was built for and is only available on a PS5: Demon’s Souls. Which, other than Bloodborne, was the primary reason I got the console in the first place.

It doesn’t just sit around gathering dust, like some others have stated. Since my PC is getting old and increasingly more unsupported by newer games, if I pirate a thing/play a demo on PC and it runs poorly (and I also like it enough to want it), I’m more likely to get it on the console if it’s not a multiplayer game.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

Bloodborne is a PS4 game so it would just be Demon’s Souls.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

They keep pushing GTA V for free on PSN, except that it’s not GTA V. Period. Full stop. It’s GTA :O without the single player and absolutely nothing on the store page itself says this. You only find out when booting it up. 😬

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

You can’t beat that game catalog

It’s impossible to beat “every game ever made.” Which while it may not play some games now, the platform will eventually play those, too. One way or another.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

It’s a whole ass remake, so more than a remaster, but yes.

Mentioned this in another thread yesterday:

Like many UE games over the years, they didn’t properly optimize Unreal itself for their use, and there were already several ini tweaks up on the Nexus to remedy this the day of launch.

Went from 27 average fps when in exterior cells to a solid 60, with an unsupported GPU by just using one of these ini tweaks.

Kolanaki, (edited )
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

The level system doesn’t work that way anymore. Now when you level up, it doesn’t matter what skills you leveled up when you get a new level, you always get 12 points (called “virtues”) to spread around to any stat. Luck, however, takes 4 “virtues” to level one point, while the others are just 1:1 and you can add up to 5 at a time.

I can level up entirely through using Agility linked skills but then put my stat points into Strength and Intelligence instead of agility.

The real issue has to do with the level scaling on enemies still being the worst of any Elder Scrolls game because they didn’t change anything about that from the OG. So once you’re level 50, everything has the best weapons and armor on them.

Kolanaki, (edited )
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

This is such a common problem with games on any iteration of Unreal Engine, and has been for over 2 decades. Since it’s so common to see, I wonder if the documentation just sucks.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

For the performance issues: Like many UE games (doesn’t even matter the iteration of UE) this one is not properly configured. There are already several ini tweaks up on the Nexus that address this and actually fix the exterior cell performance.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

They literally used the same logic from the OG. The .esm and .esp files are exactly the same as the latest version of the original Oblivion. They did absolutely nothing to the original scripts and quests other than replace the dialogue for certain characters to a new recording.

I think it’s dumb, but also funny that Todd definitely knows that the “charm” of his games are how fucked up they are.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

There is no cow level in Doom. 😔

I'm bored and desperately search for a proper game angielski

So, I’ve spent over 2 hours on Steam searching for a nice game to play. But it’s all junk, as far as I’m fed with Steam recommendations. I liked ksp2 1, cities skylines 1, age of empires 2, baldurs gate 3 a lot, I just finished Divinity original sin 2. I like rpgs and management / factory games like workers and resources,...

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

I actually like WOTR more in many ways to BG3. Especially when you start getting deeper into it.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

The rest are just soft codes changing a number in a file somewhere.

So you’re saying modifying a file isn’t a mod? 🤔

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

Those likely wouldn’t be on the Nexus anyway.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

A while back Nexus did something that pissed off a lot of creators and they moved to other mod repositories, even deleting their shit off Nexus. In my experience, the good sexy stuff is more commonly found on other sites. Especially furry related ones.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

Because of their username, I image the filter just covers you with a cardboard box. 🤣

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

They changed leveling, locomotion, added new voice lines to make all the races sound more unique, added more feedback to combat (hit animations, blood effects, sparks, and sounds; the actual combat mechanics look entirely unchanged)… And that’s just what they point out in the trailer.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

The fugly character models needed to be redone BADLY, too.

I kinda wonder what the NPCs in that one village part of a quest that mimics Shadow Over Innsmouth look like in the remake… They’re supposed to be fugly 🤣

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

Gender had an effect on stats in the original?

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

All I remember off-hand for what stats are affected in Skyrim is that Khajit start with 5 more points in Hand-to-Hand due to their claws 🤣

Morpheus Actor Laurence Fishburne Reveals He Was Turned Down for The Matrix Resurrections — So He Might Not Be Back for Matrix 5 Either - IGN [Morpheus' character dies in The Matrix Online] (www.ign.com) angielski

However, there could be a fairly simple explanation there: Morpheus dies in the MMO game The Matrix Online. That specific event in the game is considered canon because the writer-directors, the Wachowskis, gave their approval to the game.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

Resurrections was basically a parody of the original trilogy, along with the politics going on in the background of producing Resurrections. The Wachowskies didn’t want to do it at all, but ended up taking the reigns because WB would have made it without them, so they used the opportunity to basically shit all over WB and Hollywood and capitalism in general.

In that regard, it’s an awesome movie. If you expect more of the same kind of stuff from the originals, you will likely be disappointed.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

I keep trying but a message pops up telling me enemies are nearby. 😨

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

They literally have a teaser trailer for ES6 they officially released years ago (in 2018; similarly to how Cyberpunk 2077 was teased way the hell back in 2012). They said it wouldn’t go into major production, though, until after Starfield released. Which has also already happened.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

You can’t just tease something and have pretty much no updates for 7 years…

Todd Howard thinks he can. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is the E3 trailer of Half Life (1997) (www.youtube.com) angielski

Half life was supposed to release in November 1997 but coding team decided to overhaul the game completely and released it in 19 November 1998. Everything is changed about it and became one of the most important game of gaming world.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

So glad they redid the smg because holy shit the one showed here looked and sounded terrible.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

The OGs like Wolf3D and Doom did not even have mouse support for aiming until much later. Quake’s default controls didn’t use the mouse, despite it being one of the first FPS games to offer mouse-looking.

I didn’t fully embrace the current typical controls until Tribes 2. Before that, I used nothing but the keyboard.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

I fudged the phrasing; you could move with the mouse and I think turn with it, you couldn’t look up and down. My dad played that way; but he would strafe instead of turn.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

Oh lame. The multiplayer is the only thing I’d wanna try. I didn’t actually like the game, personally. Just not a fan of the wave-shooter setup.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

they didn’t do a MP mode in the sequel

What? Eternal has multiplayer. They’re mostly assymetrical modes, like the one where you can play as the demons.

Or do you mean the second sequel (Dark Ages)?

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

I don’t know; I only tried the game via the demo, which didn’t have any multiplayer. I thought it would basically be like the OG Doom’s deathmatch.

I have played Eternal’s multiplayer on PS+ because it’s in the catalogue. It was… Weird. Though I thought it sounded pretty cool that you can be a demon in it. It wasn’t actually that fun.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

RPGs that don’t really fit in CRPG or JRPG

I was thinking it is weird that the generically named “RPGs” community (and RPGMemes) seems focused entirely on tabletop stuff, but I just noticed it’s literally on an instance dedicated to tabletop games so that explains that…

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

Oh wow. The art style looks hella cool. How’s it play, tho?

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

I sometimes still think about StarCraft: Ghost.

Also not really a whole game, but I hate that CDPR cancelled the multiplayer stuff for Cyberpunk 2077. I was really looking forward to that.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@pawb.social avatar

C&C Renegade still released. It wasn’t very good, either. 🤷🏻‍♂️
