Mostly Neverwinter Nights.

We’ve had more active players on the server I DM for, so I’ve been popping in more often to run quests and ambience for all the newbies.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Oddly enough. nothing.

I’m on vacation and I’m planning to start Zoria: Age of Shattering and to pick Solasta: Palace of Ice back up.

I’m in the mood for CRPG’s based on D&D.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Sorry for the double post, but I DID play something new this week: The demo for the Casting of Frank Stone.

LOVED IT.

It’s a narrative horror game and those tend to be out of my price range at the start, because I only buy a game if I get at least an hour of play time per dollar spent, but still, it’s spooky and fantastic.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I loved the atmosphere and general gameplay, but HATED how they reused so many of the areas, some multiple times.

I hope we get another one someday, but with more work put into the level design.

I think that trying to please everyone is generally a bad idea, especially when it comes to niche social justice issues and identity, because everyone thinks their personal rules are universal these days.

With that said, body type over gender is step in the right direction.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I LOVE stealth games.

Such great fun, even if a tad stressful to pull off at times.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Origins was my favorite entry in the series, personally.

I’m still playing Caveblazers. Can’t believe I’ve gotten almost 10 hours out of a game I got for 99 cents, but it’s fun.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Least favorite - Joycons. They make my hands ache, and I hate that to enjoy my switch I have to have a 3rd-party grip.

Favorite - my Lenovo legion laptop, which has given me for excellent years of service. I’m going to upgrade to a newer model later this year and keep this one, install Linux on it, and make it a Linux-only machine for better privacy in using the Web.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I appreciate the offer.

I ran a dual boot Mint install on my main PC for two months and it was just too buggy. I had to switch back to full Windows, but I know it’s an issue with Nvidia and some distros have been Nvidia compatibility, so when I make the switch again I’m just going to use a different one.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Paid a buck yesterday for this dinky, simple, but fun roguelike platformer called Caveblazers.

SUPER fun.

Only 99 cents.

Is it truly open-world? You can just go anywhere?

I’ve been thinking of trying it out.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I still play the original Castlevania games at least once a year.

I think they’re masterpieces, but there are so many incredible classics. I even recently found a site online where you can play the Commodore 64 Nightmare on Elm St.

Glorious.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Still trying out new games from the ‘Pixels with Porpoise’ pack I bought on Humble Bundle a week ago. (So far my faves are Children of Morta and Towerfall Ascension.) I highly recommend it if you like pixel-art based games and fantasy.

And lots of PinballFX.

What JRPG combat is your favorite? angielski

I’m currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles and I also played Final Fantasy remake and Golden Sun recently and all of them have wildly different combats. Which got me thinking what JRPG out there had the best combat? This doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily your favorite JRPG as well....

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

FF6, or more recently, Battle Chasers: Nightwar

I like it old school.

Know any good pinball video games? angielski

I recently played through a demo for a game called Pinball Spire on steam, and it put me in the mood for playing pinball games. Unfortunately, and I don’t know if this is just due to me having bad google-foo, there don’t seem to be that many on Steam that catch my interest....

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I play a lot of Pinball FX and Pinball FX2. The only downer is that they’re huge downloads, even if you only own a few tables.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I LOVED the print version back in the day. It was a quality publication.

[Request] Retro Recommendations angielski

I’m trying my best to dive back into the past and play all the gems that I missed as a kid because I was either born too late or too much of a kid to consider playing them. I found myself really disappointed going back to the old mario nes/snes titles because they felt really bad to play as I’ve become accustomed to modern...

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

The Castlevania games have been organized into a couple of collections that are very inexpensive, and I would HIGHLY recommend those. They’re on PC and Switch.

I replay Castlevania 1 and 3 at least once a year.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Haven’t played much this week, really.

I’m getting to the later stages of Jedi: Fallen Order, and bought the ‘Pixels with a Porpoise’ bundle on Humble Bundle, so I’m looking a several weeks of pixelated fantasy fun, I think.

If you like that sort of thing, check it out. EIght really good games for $10: www.humblebundle.com/games/pixels-with-porpoise?h…

Kick management in the dick.

Fuck their insatiable greed.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

TIL World of Warcraft is still a thing.

And goddamnit, yes, their staff should unionize.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Project M, specifically the Dead by Daylight and Chucky tables of late.

It’s fun. Pinball’s delightful.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Good.

Kick management in the dick.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Christ, that’s awful.

I spent my first 12 years in the work force in a financial services firm that, during tax season (so four months out of the year) required 14 hour days, so I understand that grind a little bit.

Awful stuff.

It’s great seeing unions getting stronger. I just wish it didn’t have to happen out of necessity due to lackadaisical and careless governance.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

It wasn’t just good.

It’s a work of art. I replay it every 2-3 years and still have the soundtrack downloaded to my phone.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Lots and lots and lots of Pinball. I picked up Pinball M (horror-themed tables, such as Dead by Daylight and The Thing) and a vintage table pack containing a few digitized versions of tables that actually existed when I was hanging out in video arcades as a kid. (Most notably, Funhouse, which had a ventriloquist dummy head that mocked you during the game.)

I also picked up Yet Another Zombie Survivors, which is a Vampire Survivors-styled game with a zombie apocalypse theme. It is a BLAST.

Total cost of all of these was $14 bucks during the sale.

It’s a good time to be a PC gamer.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Oh yeah. It’s super creepy.

And even better, they accurately replicated the voice in PinballFX. It’s the 80’s electric robot voice.

The only downer is that, even though I only own six of the 125 tables in the game, it was still a 38gb download.

Which I’m fine with for nostalgic purposes.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Got eaten by lions the first time playing it.

10/10, still loved it.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Still playing BG3, nearing the end of Act 2, but also picked Elden Ring back up. I still have stuff to do in the main game so I’m not getting the expansion yet, but wanted to know what I was doing when I do.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I picked Baldur’s Gate 3 back up two weeks ago.

Last summer I played Act 1 of the game and found myself thoroughly satisfied, and decided to wait to play the rest.

Act 2, like Act 1, is just as awesome. We’ll see if I decide to take another break before the third act, haha! This game is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Other than that I’ve been taking a lot of 10-15 minute breaks while working from home and enjoying the minigames on Meta Horizons.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Fun!

I’ll probably pick it up in a few weeks. I’m having a lot of fun with BG3 right now.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Never got into it myself, but I know very well how popular it is, so it must be an objectively good game.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Picked up Slay the Spire on sale on Friday and I’ve put 30 hours into it this weekend.

Not an easy game, but fun.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Man, I love VR.

I watched a lot of the live events they had on Meta Horizons in April and May, planning to watch more this summer.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

And the enshittification of everything marches onward.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Still playing Jedi Fallen Order.

It’s an excellent game. It’s suitably epic and I’m enjoying the heck out of it.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I’m going to pick it up later this year for sure.

It’s a fun game. I just found I like story mode more than playing a Dark Souls game in the Star Wars universe.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I’m about 1/3 of the way through Jedi Fallen Order.

It’s a lot of fun.

I’ve also been in VR a lot this week, watching The Faceless Lady in the creepy cabin on Meta Horizon, and last night I went to a Doja Cat concert in VR too.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I disliked the batmobile sequences so much it ruined the game for me.

Kind of a bummer since I played all of the other three Arkham games and loved them.

!deleted7243 avatar

Gave up Dragons Dogma 2 at 120 hours.

Played a shit-ton of Vampire Survivors this week and I’m thinking I may pick Jedi: Fallen Order back up. Jedi: Fallen Order was hard for me to get into because, while it has a fantastic opening act, normal difficulty was too hard and easy was way too easy, which made it tough to get into.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Yup. I got a grip accessory for mine to mitigate it.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

After 120 hours, I finally got bored with Dragon’s Dogma 2.

So I’m picking back up Solasta: Crown of the Magister. I also dusted off my VR rig and I’m playing the Affected: The Manor, a horror/haunted house game.

It’ll be fun.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

That’s shitty, but thankfully, we have the emulation community.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I remember throwing my controller as a kid whenever one of those bubbles attached to Samus.

Great game.

FlashMobOfOne, (edited )
!deleted7243 avatar

After 110 hours I’m still playing Dragon’s Dogma 2, but am starting to be ready to move on to something else.

I’ve barely explored the third major zone in the game. There is a metric ton of content for people who like exploring in games.

Definitely a good value for the money.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

You speak as if it’s already decided.

I think it is. Trump won in 2016 because people were largely impoverished and Democrats didn’t do anything about it. The impoverishment is worse now.

BUT, that does make it more important to enjoy the silly shit. Absolutely.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Fair enough. Enjoy your awesome Neopet!
