🇫🇷 , - Day 8! Today I’ve done something new! I made my son (8) climb village. Over 5km , with average grade of 6%, up to a dab into over 10%. He’s strong as hell physically, but unfortunately weak-minded. Good start, though…🥰 We will work on it!🥹

@WuMing2 Sure thing. But then I’d have to ride with a shitload of weird mounts and sticks to use it, presumably stop to reconfigure it AND then, post ride - you have to download the video from the action camera with an awkward app to edit it. Not to mention the superior quality of iPhone video over any action camera…

So, I though of it, I do every now and then, but I just never pull the trigger on a GoPro and prefer the flash-bang edits from a phone…🤷🏻‍♂️

🇫🇷 , - day 2! A quick coastal ride to the north. Not flat, but also not very hilly. It was surprisingly fast, with almost no wind and it was 20°C at 6am…🥰

@nikcorg The season seems to be ending, so not that bad. Didn’t have any issues with parking, popular beaches north of Ajaccio are virtually empty…

The drivers are mostly respectful, but I guess that’s because half of them are old Germans…😂🙈

After a month of , I’ve had enough resting. At least I think so.

Went for a ride for the first time. There has been no discomfort, maybe during a dismount when I touched ground with the left leg it pulled a tiny bit.

Does anyone here routinely go cycling in ordinary trainers like Chucks? I tried with mine (knock-offs) and I don't think it was good for them, felt like they were bending downwards at the back of the pedal and I think I could see a faint line across the soles afterwards.

My pedals are for some reason metal and sort of spiky, maybe like, those old style rubber platform types would be less aggressive on my poor casual trainers?

@i_cannot_today @cycling Yes. Those spiky metal pedals are for mountain biker shenanigans… There are supposed to bite into the soles to keep your feet in place, so you don’t slip. There are flat sole shoes for that and they are heavy duty.

However, stiffer sole would also be somewhat more comfortable, taking some strain off the feet.

So I would say do both, if you can. Get stiffer shoes, change pedals to even more casual ones.

@i_cannot_today Then just go with the pedals alone, assuming you are not doing crazy distances, you should be ok.

My view may be skewed, because I’m not touching a bicycle without those clip in shoes and I do have plank-stiff soles. The advantage of stiff soles is your feet muscles don’t have to do that much work.

I’m definitely on the other side of the spectrum, though. I dress for the ride, because the ride is my destination, so to speak..🙈

Politycy mają szansę zmienić prawo i zapowiadają, że to zrobią wprowadzając obowiązek posiadania na głowie kasku podczas jazdy hulajnogą. Ale do 16. roku życia.

No nie. To powinien być obowiązek niezależnie od wieku (tak samo z rowerem i innymi jednośladami).

Znowu mamy okazję zrobić coś dobrze, a zatrzymujemy się na 16. roku życia. Nie rozumiem. Prawo zostanie zmienione, a lekarze dalej będą apelować o korzystanie z kasków przez ludzi w każdym wieku. Prawo swoje, lekarze swoje.

@rozie To akurat byłoby spoko, ale z innych powodów niż kaski i wypadki…🤣 Elektrośmieci przestałyby się walać po ulicach i DDR…

Anyways, zmuszanie do czegokolwiek nie jest fajne. Lepiej stawiać na edukację. W tym zwierzęcym, wypaczonym komuną kraju zmuszanie będzie miało efekt zdecydowanie odwrotny.

@smatyszczak Dowód anegdotyczny… Nie za bardzo to kupuję. Kogo się w szpitalu spodziewałeś? Ludzi zdrowych?

Tak to sobie mogę udowadniać wszystko. Np. 3 tygodnie temu się przewróciłem na rowerze tak, że złamałem żebro. Głowa nie dotknęła niczego twardego i nawet nie trafiłem na SOR…

Dasz politykom głupie pomysły i za chwilę będziesz woził tablicę rejestracyjną na rowerze…

@bobiko W kasku się jeździ na wszelki wypadek. Będziesz miał jeszcze wiele zdarzeń gdzie się nie przyda i to jest ok. Lepiej po prostu nie sprawdzać jego skuteczności…🤷🏻‍♂️

Ja uważam, że człowiek na rowerze bez kasku wygląda jak trzepak, który rower ukradł…😂

Ale podobne zdanie to mam o rowerach MTB używanych w mieście i prostej kierownicy…😂🫣
