What are all of your general expectations for Starfield? I feel like in my corner of the internet, people are generally being very skeptical and pessimistic. I think this is fair, based on the last few years of Bethesda.
I didn't love fallout, but mostly because of the dinky crafted weapons and their handling and the fact that you almost had to use VATS to make it work. They're damn good at making giant worlds worth exploring, and the gunplay looks a lot more fluid than fallout. I like the premise of highly customizable shipbuilding a lot more than fallout's settlements, too. It's far from guaranteed to be great, but "sci-fi Skyrim with enough engine improvements for guns to feel OK" is extremely promising to me. There's a reason Skyrim is still selling copies a decade later when the mechanics are super limited by age, and if they're able to bring the same world building to space exploration I'm all for it.
I'm not going to get it. I just don't like the bethesda style for their recent stuff. I didn't like fallout 4 at all. My favorite bethesda game is tied between daggerfall and morrowind.
@asteroidrainfall I think it's only fair to have a 14 days trial for 1 Euros/Dollars. One month trial period was insane anyway. And just to correct the article or add information; this trial is not only for new subscribers in general, but also if you haven't used it in a months. Then you get the offer again. I did that multiple times (it offers me again for 1 Euro), because most of the time I do not have Game Pass subscription.
$1 for a 14 day trial seems pretty reasonable especially considering if you time it around when you know you have a fair bit of time you could play through quite a few games in that time.
I had done that a few times where there was a game I was interested in and just got a trial and completed it during the trial period making it a very cheap game rental.
Even a D&D campaign at this level is hard to DM, I cant imagine the complexity in trying to really gameify this when especially at the end your players are gods.
Cast wish, may as well just let players write their own code for what they want.
Sure bigger stronger enemies are available but parties become so powerful i can’t see it being easy.
I would say just leave those aspects out of the game, or put strict limitations on their usage. You could isolate higher magic abilities to specific items (e.g. deck of many things).
It is complex, however I think if you look to games like Neverwinter as a template for moving forward (absent microtransactions).
I think just artificer. A lot of subclasses are missing, but Baldur’s Gate basically just has the core players handbook content. Artificer wasn’t added until Tasha’s.
That’s what I’m fucking talking about. Trying to fix my elite 1 was a nightmare. The prices seem really high but fuck at least they’re selling the damn things now
Literally just update BF4 with new graphics, some tighter movement and gunplay and a load of new maps and you’ll have an extremely happy fanbase. Nobody cares about the Battlefield cinematic universe.
Season 2 (“Book 1” in the US), I agree made some TERRIBLE changes, especially around Yennifer’s relationship with Ciri.
Having just finished Season 3, however, I feel like they mostly pulled back into following the book’s major plotlines. Sure, a TV show makes some concessions on content, but overall I felt it followed the books “okay”. Everything that happened in Thanedd was close, and everything after that too, in the final 3 episodes. Rience was the strangest change to me, since that doesn’t happen for several books and it’s Ciri’s doing.
Does the general public agree? Or are we still so mad about Season 2 that we refuse to see Season 3 positively?
This. I see no point in investing any more of time in this show. Netflix needs to fire everybody, pull every episode from existence, and just start over with people who actually care about the source material and are willing to invest the time, effort, and respect to do it right.
Yeah, fair, but I didn’t like the first season, either. Cavill was perfect, Joey Batey as Dandelion was… fine… and that is where the positives stopped. The show was a mess from the start and you can’t just erase those seasons if they did happen to do a little better on 3… and knowing that Cavill is out for season 4… there is just no point. I’d rather replay Witcher 3 again than ever watch another minute of that show.
oof, you just reminded me - Dandelion in season 3 was… not as good as Season 1/2. Even down to the detail that every time he came on screen, my wife demanded to know what they did with his hair. That, and the strangely unnecessary sex scenes with another male.
ok ok, season 3 wasnt perfect either. but I was “surprised” that the big events at Aretuza and the major events afterward all followed the book rather closely…
