A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed the frog in the middle of the river. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which the scorpion replies: “I am sorry, but I couldn’t resist the urge. It’s my character.”
The facial interface is lined with a foam padding that will absorb your sweat like a sponge, that’s a sanitation issue because the padding isn’t removable
I thought the padding around the eyes being removable was standard, this will wear over time and smell like sweat every time someone puts on the headset. Eugh.
It’s owned by Meta so I’ll never buy it but still, that’s a weird oversight.
I thought that this was incredibly dumb, so I went looking… And from what I can tell, there’s a whole section that can be replaced, including the padding. Instead of just the padding. So there will be replacements available, and third party replacements, too, I’m sure.
Imo microsoft is trying to pump gamepass sub numbers and supposedly its not enough (despite the size). I think they will consider merging the World of Warcraft sub to gamepass to boost sub count for the investors.
Hardly anyone is streaming it. It’s the same cringy dialogue with the same boring game as its predecessors. I haven’t seen anything in any of the streams that would change my mind.
Pre orders aren’t even the biggest issue in gaming now, for me it’s game tiers, where a game releases with 3 different editions, with the most expensive one being like $150. Which means the actual game is $150 and the lower editions are just incomplete copies.
I could feel every traction loss and wipe out that would have happened in that video through my entire body. And the feeling of my hands slipping and a metal edge jamming under my fingernails.
I would say, being even more pedantic, that the game uses a blockchain (which is just a different type of database) to record in game digital asset ownership. This game could have been made with a normal db taking that roll and would probably run no differently.
He is mentioning and using a blockchain over a normal db for no other reason that it probably helped to secure funding in 2017 as it was a massive tech buzzword at the time.
It could, sure, but I’m positive the only reason he’s making it is because of blockchain. I seriously doubt Pete was rolling around a game idea for online real estate separately and just threw blockchain in as a way to get funding.
I forgot about this the minute there was drama with it and the writers were changing the story. All they had to do was remake the models and textures for it to be a masterpiece for the second time. Sad, but glad it wasn’t turned into a dumpster fire.
