No doubt this game will have best in class gameplay but I doubt I’ll get into it like i did with halo or destiny. For destiny especially D2 they showed how much they care about any sort of soft or hard competitive PVP scene and now they ‘are doing the most’ for this game (dedicated servers and such)? Like TF they literally threw destiny in the trash to make this game and others that all now all canned or something not sure at this point anymore. On top of all that 100% won’t be playable on Linux, (according to leaks) will cost 40$ witch to be clear is not the problem but instead the problem is the 40$ price tag with the inevitable season pass, cosmetics MTX. Etc
I’m pretty tired of these trailers for the trailers, all it does for me is just drive down my hype or even just interest in a game, and bungie loves them.
Granted I don’t give a flying fuck about marathon, just something I’ve noticed in the industry that is another thing I dont understand
Oh shit. Actually I completely forgot about that. I really didn’t like his takes on that …
I think he was arguing that it was going to be hugely costly to the developer to keep games running after the fact and how difficult it was going to be. I really wanted to give him a fair shake but it really did feel full of straw man stuff because the stopkillinggames stuff wasn’t really about that.
I agree with his points about the $80 dollar games not being a sustainable price point, especially in places like Australia or Brazil which suffer from higher game prices! This is a stupid move on the part of Nintendo…It’s made me rethink buying their Switch 2 as a result. I will wait and see if they have a moment of clarity which derails this bad decision. If they don’t, I hope the market slaps them in the face and buys games that are reasonably priced!
I don’t think he has a great understanding of Australian prices.
The current MKW price of au$120 looks high but if you remove our GST and convert to USD with the average exchange rate over the last 12 months its equivalent to us$70.85. (Donky Kong is au$110 or us$65).
We are currently at a low point with our dollar so the conversion for MKW today would be us$66.49. (DK would be us$61).
Compared to the prices I’m seeing internationally it looks like Australia is getting relatively generous prices from Nintendo.
