I’m pretty excited about that! I loved Warcraft II and never got into any of the warcrafts that came after though, and haven’t had great experiences with Wc2 on modern hardware.
If that’s happening, I sure hope whoever dubs the elder god has a thundering voice similar to Tony Jay.
Having the first Soul Reaver come with an option that adds the cut content would be awesome - after beating Kain in the time chamber, you’d still have to beat a human witch, then Turel, kill/absorb/merge Ariel with the spectral blade (as shown in one of the “futures” before you fight Kain) before finally facing Kain for the last time, proceeding to fully eradicate ALL vampires and realizing you’ve been made a complete fool to the elder god’s whims.
And please, keep Ozar Midrashim playing as the theme. I’ve come to love that song.
As far as I can tell, it was the original creators that they handed the franchise back to that fumbled it. I think there was a rumor that a classics collection was in development a while back, but that could be one of dozens of projects that got cut when Embracer lost that Saudi deal.
I have waited almost 2 decades for this, but as I read this I can barely be excited for it. Creative Assembly absolutely needs this to go well.
But, with the way they have steered their previous engines and its gameplay, I don’t have much hope for this new engine. Especially if they cater to consoles.
