I really enjoy looking at bad games so long as I can grab them dirt cheap. It’s a hobby I have. Even then I saw Suicide Squad for $2.50 and I couldn’t warrant getting it for that much. The game does not look interesting enough to spend 2.50 on for me personally
Getting Fabric and shaders is actually super easy and totally worth it!
It's incredible how easy modding MC has become, not only that - but shaders aren't like the old days where you only get 15fps, it all runs so smooth and great together
That's a great question that requires some decent Java expertise
Its per-case, per-mod, per-version
If you're lucky someone else has done the work for you and ported it to both versions. But in general if a mod is made exclusively for Fabric or Forge, it's gonna stay that way
Check the wikis first - they both are extremely comprehensive and should cover most questions!
Even though I prefer Fabric I recommend making a mod first and getting started with Forge. Trust me when I say converting a mod after you've made one makes so much more sense
complimentary shaders is what you want. they are lovely and they even come with potato PC options.
they also do reimagined (which is like normal minecraft but better) and they do Unbound which is updated water animations and smoother sky textures, etc.
they run great. i run them on my steam deck and they look beautiful.
Probably because I tried to see how far he could swim out and he ran into an invisible wall. I know I’d be pretty depressed if I ran into an invisible wall and discovered I was confined somewhere
The first notes you hear after entering the castle are etched into my memory. Even when running the game later as an adult those notes can still affect me.
Atticus, I highly recommend getting the PC port of this game. Choose the Render96 option, and relive what the game probably looked like to all those kids back in the day. It also has some extra neat things like bringing in some of the move set of Odyssey, a mode that allows you to collect all the stars in the level in one go, and much much more. :)
Always do 100 coins when collecting red coins, the levels change or open up more during that star. There’s only a couple of stages with just enough coins for a 100-coin star. Most have way more coins than needed.
The water in Mario 64 was a surreal experience for me. More contemplative than scary. I was disappointed by the artificial barriers and would day dream about what was beyond them. I drew fake maps in a notebook that showed how the castle connected to the rest of Mushroom Kingdom.
The only thing scary about the water was the first time I saw the eel because the size of it surprised me and the submarine level with the shark. Once, I dreamed that the first part of that level was dark and I had to avoid the shark without being able to see it.
I definitely understand the eel lol. It wasn’t super terrifying to me but the first time I saw that level it creeped me out. Jolly Roger bay is still one of my favorite levels though
Have you tried out any romhacks? the ones coming out recently are great! launchers like parallel launcher integrate with websites like romhacking.comWhole new experience of the game with new moves and scenery.
I’ve played a few, nothing major though. I played Super Releasio 64 a few times. I never beat it though. I’d always get to the Bowser Boss fight and be unable to beat It due to one of the Cheats the Rom Hack switches on and off to mess with you
We are always allowed to admire oddly hi-fi graphics. I love shaking the vodka bottles in Half-Life Alyx. The liquid inside waves and bubbles and if you hold it up to a light source, the light glows through!
