swordgeek, do games w Randy Pitchford asks fans if they'd swallow future Borderlands exclusivity deals, almost 10,000 people say just put your damn games on Steam

I’m just here to say my god, that article was horribly written!

If this is what humans are cranking out, maybe I should reconsider my opinion of LLMs.

And that website is a fucking eyesore.

piyuv, do games w Young men are 'playing videogames all day' instead of getting jobs because they can mooch off of free healthcare, claims congressman

There was a billionaire, CEO to multiple companies, arguing that he’s one of the best in one of the most grindiest games…

pugnaciousfarter, do games w There's still no sign of Star Citizen 1.0, but it did just get a revamped referral program so the die-hards can tempt in even more saps

They have a management problem. Roberts has had a history with badly managing projects especially where his uberambition is unchecked.

They could’ve entirely and easily avoided the forever beta tag if they had released the single player early on (even if it wasn’t perfect), like they had promised and then continued to work on the persistent universe.

full_throttle, do games w Young men are 'playing videogames all day' instead of getting jobs because they can mooch off of free healthcare, claims congressman

The problem is not this bloke. The problem is the people that voted for him.

sugar_in_your_tea,

Maybe. But in many areas, only one party realistically has a shot, so reps basically get elected in their primary process. So instead of needing a majority of the total population to win, you just need a plurality of the few who get involved in the primary process.

Blame the people involved in the primary process, not the people who only vote in the general election.

I pay $60 (or whatever), pay for my data connection, and get to play my game literally for years. It’s one of the cheapest forms of entertainment around. I get tons of value out of my purchase, it reduces stress, I get a sense of challenge out of it, and for the amount I spent I get a lot pf return.

Now if only health care were free. That’s just a bullshit statement and not even worth responding to. That said, In its current state it’s the opposite of video games. It’s expensive. The amount you put in is often not what you get out. It’s stressful.

Maybe the only way it’s like games is that someone can pull the plug on you when it’s not profitable anymore.

Rhynoplaz,

Right? I feel bad that it’s beautiful outside and we’re all inside playing games and streaming TV, but every time we leave the house as a family, it ends up costing me at least $100.

I don‘t like to see the politics of this miserable country here.

defaultusername, do games w One gamer got so tired of waiting for Valve, he made his own 'Steam Controller 2' out of Steam Deck parts, and it even splits in half like Switch Joy-Cons

Hopefully Valve will decide to release their Ibex soon. I do like that this is a split controller, but the ergonomics don’t look great compared to the leaked Ibex image.

Sunny, do games w Hunt: Showdown 1896 goes offline for a day after its latest update caused so many problems Crytek had to remove it completely

They have unfortunately been on a roll with bad and controversial updates lately. Such a shame for a games with such unique potential.

sounds like jagex is about to go under, or being bought off AGAIN.

Suavevillain, do games w Former Dragon Age writer says Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Baldur's Gate 3 prove 'what's possible when a game is given time to cook'
@Suavevillain@lemmy.world avatar

Please give the new Mass Effect time to cook. I need another great space RPG.

BlameTheAntifa, do games w The Baldur's Gate 3 cast got a new set of pre-painted minis and—oh, oh no, oh no no no

I’ve seen worse.

But I don’t mean that as a compliment.

RetroGoblet79, do games w After saying negative reviews 'might just cause our death' and 'we've got a few months left in the oven', No Rest for the Wicked CEO claims he never said they were in 'immediate financial danger'

Kind of frustrating because I liked Ori, which I felt was a beautiful piece of art. Only to find out this guy is a edge lord.

stringere,

I loved the Ori games and No Rest for the Wicked was shaping up to be a great game. Hoping my refund request to Steam wallet goes through; 67 hours played. I included in my refund request that I want to take that money and use it to support a studio that isn’t run by an asshole (but worded gooder).
