All my fears came true when I saw it wasn’t Nightdive doing it. Nightdive wouldn’t have changed shit mechanically, they would have just incorporated GMDX/Revision textures.
I recently replayed IW and the overall looks just seem so much more… coherent? I guess? It’s hard to describe but in comparison the Remaster looks like it’s assets from different games merged into one.
Maxing out the meele skill and just beating enemies over the head with the baton was so overpowered and fun. The ragdolls and sound effects never get old. The only thing weighting the game down is the limited level design IMO, something a possible remaster could easily fix.
We should know if the gf is selling herself as a second hand sale or if it’s a recurring economic activity. If so, she should register in VAT and collect it.

Fascinating story. The narrative at the time was that casual games were just too lucrative to bother with SiN sequels after Emergence, but of course, the truth has a lot more nuance.
People put too much hope into it. Personally, as a big WoD fan, I don’t care if it’s mediocre or worse. Thanks to Paradox, there have been many new games of the universe, so it wouldn’t be much of a loss. I don’t mind them being text-based either. It’s a lot better than nothing, which is how it was for many years.
If you’re looking for a fix of Bloodlines, just play the last Deus Ex games if you haven’t. They’re the same thing but without vampires.
From the reviews I’ve seen, it actually seems like they listened to complaints about three and have toned down the cringey dialogue.
Of course, nobody can get the damn thing to run, so hard to independently verify, but it seems like this entry was meant to be a triumphant return to form, far closer to BL2 in tone and style than BL3.
It’ll maybe be worth checking out once the inevitable Game of the Year edition goes on heavy discount in like four years.
The story is really good so far have beaten 1/3 guys to get the things (trying to not spoil for those who know nothing). I have been having a blast. Only crashed after a hotfix then a second one came out and fixed it as far as I can tell.
The specs required make no sense though it doesn’t look that much better than 3.
Un-sarcastic answer, it’s actually in a really good spot. The backend changes they put in over the past year have boosted the per-server player counts like crazy, they churned through most of their ship backlog, and they’ve been running a bunch of story events. Performance is way up, especially for client fps in high-population areas (15 fps this time last year if you were in a crowd, 35+ now).
PCG has been super negative on SC for years. Sometimes very justifiably, but many times not.
Disagree. It is still a buggy mess. Many missing features that they promised. Lots of missing basic features of MMOs like no guild chat, no in game guild rosters, elevators and doors still don’t consistently work, they struggle to connect the game loops, game loops don’t consistently work, etc, etc.
I haven’t had any elevator issues in a while, though I know some people have with the freight elevators. Guild chat isn’t something I care about, since every guild/clan/alliance I’ve been a part of has always used mumble/TS/discord.

People who aren’t having issues don’t go online to post about it. Since we know the daily player count hovers around 29,000, those hundreds of complaints can still be a very small portion of players, who are experiencing issues.

The other side to this is that differences between patches can be huge, so reports of a bug that everyone is having could be irrelevant a week later when the new patch drops, but unless you’re checking every post’s date and patch number, you could falsely conclude the bug is still present, or view those bugs as cumulative with bugs that are in the current patch.
The 4.3.x patches are some of the most stable, bug-free patches I’ve played. If you’re insistent on finding faults with anything, you can, and lord knows there are plenty of things to find fault with in SC, but bringing up issues like the ‘deadly’ elevators and doors from last year or older, is an unserious criticism.

Both comments are right. It is still a buggy, minimal alpha, but i would say in the last year or two it has become a somewhat enjoyable game rather than a tech demo you’d check a release every once in a while.
Development has consistently been a shitshow, but there really is nothing else like it.
I think the people claiming this game is a scam, don’t know what scam means. I paid for this game years ago and sometimes I go online and have fun with friends or just drink beer and do cargo hauling to relax. Like any other game really. Early access or not, people are having fun.
Sunk cost fallacy? What cost am I putting in, and what am I expecting in return? This game cost me a night on the town years ago that would’ve been forgotten at this point, and gained me a fun space game.
Last time I hate the patience to soldier through a sad attempt at playing this game felt more like buying some next gen bike, but getting the chassis that looks like the bike I ordered, but had tech from 10 years ago and every time you try to park it in your garage, both wheels fall off.
Horribly mismanaged? Incompetent project management? Horrifyingly bad predictions, even lying? Big mess of a project? Sure.
Scam? No. They really are trying to do the thing they said they are.

Umm, I bought it because Gary Oldman said squadron 42 was coming out next year. I want a modern freelancer. That was over a decade ago. That really seems like a scam…
A scam would be that Chris Robert just took the kickstarter money and ran away. They are actually trying to make the game… Poorly.
Having said that, It amazes me that they get away with selling ships for 1000s of dollars. That feels somewhat scam-ish
Started playing this with my friends a couple of months ago. We are old so we can only play for 2 hours every week bit it is a blast! Having so much fun and the graphics being a throwback to half life 1 is just top notch! It really show how much gameplay means compared to polygon count and whatever effects etc.
Not sure if I would have played this on my own. A bit too much of the survival stuff that I am not into too much but that is a personal preference. Less stress about that with friends.
The game is pretty dope, but the thing that broke my enthusiasm with the game was the realization that mosterspawning teleporter/rift can just spawn in the base. Doesn’t seem like a fun mechanic to me, the game is a misery-simulator everywhere else, why did it need to have random monsterspawners in “safe areas” as well. :/
I guess I need to take a gander in the sandbox settings, apparently there’s some slider/toggle to affect monster’s damage to furniture/craftingstations/etc.
I’m pretty sure the portals spawn at set locations, and there are great spots for bases that monsters can’t access at all (except for one creepy guy). There’s a great spot in a little upstairs area right by the elevator in the offices.
We built in the cafeteria and as you say we also had these spawns in the middle of the base which seemed stupid but when we progressed further they stoped spawning there. Or maybe because we built more there? Not sure. It’s a thing of the past now anyway so if you decide to continue it will hopefully pass with progress.
