seriously, you’d think with the holiday season coming up studios would be crunching to get their games ready in time, but since unity shit the bed and epic took their lead it’s been nothing but bad news in the AA and AAA space
Superstonk mods have been compromised for a long time, silencing discussion of various topics and derailing discourse. Not to mention thousands of bot accounts manipulating what gets seen. The original members have partially moved to other forums and lemmy
Almost like crying about Steam “exclusives”, creating an actual exclusivity PC war, and handing out free games to prop up a shitty marketplace and launcher wasn’t such a good financial decision…
Well, competition for Valve might not be the worst thing.
On the other Hand I’m not sure if we would have gotten vive or steam deck if valve didn’t have a money printing machine with steam.
I’m rather certain that most companies would be worse for consumers, with the level of monopoly (/market dominance) that steam enjoys
@TheYang@Fazoo
Really like your perspective on it. Watching Disney and EA scoop up multiple IPs than misuse them like they are really puts Valve into perspective lol. At least Valve has the Steam Sales which is the most consumer friendly i've ever seen in recent history lol. Next to Sega promoting us to scream at our teachers and parents lmao.
The part that confuses me a bit is that it’s a mod that removes functionality from a single player game. Usually features get added, not removed. When something is removed it’s usually to improve stability or performance. Or to rebalance the gameplay. This change falls into none of these categories.
Well I guess if the mod author did it to garner attention or make a point he/she/they succeeded.
Can you not stick close to the source material but make it all new and nicer? Lol God this place is just as pedantic as reddit and annoying as reddit. It really is a human problem and not a platform problem.
While the variety, quality and especially scope isn't great, I wouldn't call it abandoned. Especially BeamNG BallisticNG has been one of the more successful ones and Redout 1 was also fairly well received. There generally hasn't been a big presence for this genre on the PC unfortunately.
BallisticNG is awesome, and so is Redout. FYI Redout and all DLC tracks is part of Fanatical’s Build Your Own Play on the Go Bundle right now, get it and two other games for 5 $/£/€: fanatical.com/…/build-your-own-play-on-the-go-bun…
Damn that’s a very good deal. From the price I suspected that it was just another grey market key seller, but from all that I can find it’s actually legit. Thanks for sharing!
I have a theory that freaky cartoon porn on the internet is going to spawn a “market” for entertainers somehow.
It’s like… the ‘weird factor’ of it is such that you could probably capture a large audience by trying to explain or understand it in a neutral, non-judgmental way. Study the way a person ends up being ‘into it’ in the same way people study the life cycle of a marine mammal or something.
