While some of their language has changed, the sentiment of this latest aggressive movement is just as distressing. It’s time for the games industry to stand up to it
Never did anyone in this steam group go out of their way to harass anyone involved with the company.
Never was it “a bunch of sexist and racist white people being upset about diversity in videogames”.
Very bold statements in favour of people that I know myself are extremely “anti diversity / anti woke”. Do you even know who the creator of the Steam group is? Guy is known for being the scum of the Brazilian WoW community.
Best thing in the show was the mistery of vault 31 and the solution was extremely underwhelming. I think people just need time to digest. I hate Maximus.
Apologies for being late on this. It completely slipped my mind! I drove across the country to continue moving stuff up north over the weekend, and just lost track of time I suppose. The threads here now! Expect another one on Sunday. ❤️
Aftermath is a writer owned website with plenty of interesting stuff. I understand we dread paywalls, but at home is one of the few websites we support due to the quality of the content.
I was completely sold after the Alan Wale Fortnite article.
Path of Exile players pay this and more with a smile on their faces, but yeah the game is “free to play” (you can barely play the game without buying storage tabs).
$300? I’ve met people that buy the highest supporter pack tier every year plus the highest supporter pack from the seasons. That can add up to over $1k/year.
I think at this point I probably have more than $300 in MTX too, but I paid much more than that to FFXIV sub since 2014.
I really think Genshin is awful on mobile. Even with a high end phone I had extremely bad performance. I haven’t played Honkai so can’t say anything about that.
To be fair I wouldn’t recommend Genshin at all, I’ve been playing since launch and there’s a lot of FOMO, so just by starting now you already missed many things that will never return (like weapons, events, etc).
I really liked the Nier Reincarnation game and played full f2p. The story telling and the soundtrack is beautiful. The game will be closing in the next months though, which is really sad. :(
The new Lords of the Fallen game. It was a pretty enjoyable game. There were many issues regarding online play and such, but I’ve had a great time as a soulsbourne fan.
As we all know, Roblox is garbage tier gameplay structured around psychological cues to get children to fill an endless pit with fake money bought with real money....
The platform I played the most this year was the Switch. My local library is blessed with a catalogue of physical games, including new titles such as ToTK, Pikmin 4, etc. There’s obviously a considerable wait list, but I’m so glad it exists.
Personally, I really don’t like most of these games due to the tedium and frustration that comes with hunger/thirst mechanics. Most of the exceptions that I do actually like either make up for it through something else that elevates the experience enough - or they either don’t have these mechanics or allow for players to...
After watching the Folding Ideas video I was 100% sure I will never come back to this game. Toxiest years of my life. I’m glad for many experiences and friends WoW gave me, but I am really over it and I love being a filthy casual in FFXIV.
I was so surprised to discover the similarities Alan Wake has with Twin Peaks. There are so many similar things and the dreamy like vibe that there’s something wrong but you don’t knoe exactly what it is. I loved it!
Really excited to play this one, however many are pointing out how the performance is lacking. I think we will wait out a bit and see if it gets improved in the next few months. The lantern mechanic seems extremely cool.
You all hate discs until you have a library that you can rent games for free close to you. Or you want to sell a game you already played to buy something else. I don’t care of what some boss from GameStop says because at the end of the day, they run a business out of it, but complaining about physical media is something I don’t understand someone would do as a consumer. Did we really learn nothing from companies simply shutting down online stores when they want?
Yeah, I heard that many things in Japan are extremely protective for companies. Apparently modding is also illegal, right? I was talking with my spouse about console modding and we discovered that
Watched the Digital Foundry video and was really impressed on the fact it is so segmented. I thought it was aiming to be like No Man’s Sky but I guess I might have misheard at some point
Hopefully a new Animal Crossing game! I started ACNH last month and it was my first time with the franchise. I’m already taking a time off because I was too obsessed but the game was so polished and well done that I’m really excited for the next. Also considering they have been busy with something since November 2021, I don’t think it is unlikely they are already working in the new game.
Just thought I’d share something I thought was pretty interesting. I have a mother in law who is… well let’s just say she’s a stereotypical older mom who doesn’t own a computer, just an iPad. I play FFXIV since 2014 and I honestly wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy this. You’re just paying to not play the game and skip the main quest (which locks up a bunch of content behind it).
