I mean, I played it. I liked it. Depends on your personal choice. I liked everything. From Graphics to Story to Gameplay. Clumsy at times, but didn’t bother me much.
The pronoun mod took away pronoun choices. It was created by an obvious transphobe, and Nexus got rid of it because they have no patience for obvious transphobes.
Around the midpoint of a game, often while still enjoying it, I start asking myself how close to the end I am. Let’s Plays are great for this. I can just open a playlist and read episode titles until I’m around the same point I’m actually at. Let’s say e.g. 45/67 videos or 2/3. If I rarely do this, maybe even not at all, I’m really into the game.
For context, I mainly play quite linear JRPGs. For other games, I usually just look at howlongtobeat.com and compare it to my playtime.
I beat Kingdom Hearts 1 last week, so this week I’m doing Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories! I think I’m about halfway through now, just finishing floor 12 I think, but the battle’s been rough on me to say the least. I think I’m gonna need to grind up some cards and levels today to get past it.
Since Blasphemous II came out, I decided to give the first game of the two a try, and I’m amazed. For me, this is as good as a hollow Knight in terms of the map size, exploration, combat, music, everything. It’s phenomenal. The odd art style put me off at first, but it was unfounded. The game is awesome. If you’re on the fence about it like I was, take this as your sign that it’s a good metroidvania. Your mileage may vary, but I don’t usually give annoying or tedious games the light of day.
