I recently restarted cookie clicker. Big mistake

PenguinTD, do gaming w Worth to replay Ghost Of Tsushima? (PS5)

If you have the ps5 director update, they added really good haptic feedback to the game. And there was an Lengend update that add some more stuff(like NG+ and extra perks) and Legend mode to play. The director’s cut content is also quite nice(entire extra smaller island), some puzzles are pretty nice change of pace, you can learn a lot more about the back story of MC.

BigTrout75, do gaming w Backwards compatibility is the best feature of Xbox, and I don't understand why Sony is so far behind on this

A while back I bought Metal Slug 3 on the ps4 for super cheap on sale. It was just the ps2 version emulated. So Sony has a PS2 emulator

tombuben,

They’re perfectly capable of running old games, they proved it times and times again. They just don’t want them to be backwards compatible so you have to buy them again.

Still Final Fantasy XVI (PS5) and Final Fantasy XII (Switch). Loving both still.

Going through all of the Hitman reboot trilogy maps purely to take screenshots. My plan is to have a fat wallpaper folder of all sorts of locations from the trilogy. It's a beaut

Elden ring for now

Replaying Witcher 3 for the xth time. So far only ever played the base game, now I look forward to the dlcs. So far I am mostly rushing through the main quest and am now facing the wild hunt at kaer morhen. Never before reached this state with so few side quests completed 😅.

You’ll love the DLCs. Hearts of Stone is the best story in all of TW3, in my opinion.

kd637_mi,

Hearts of Stone was so good. I think the story being more focused helped compared to Blood and Wine.

I agree. I also think 2 of the 3 endings to B&W are sort of terrible, which soured me on it a little. And the one ending I liked is kind of hidden and obnoxious to get.

B&W was like a nice vacation as Geralt headed into retirement. Pretty landscapes and some fun new skills to play with (loved that you could finally make a crossbow build work).

HoS was just pure, spooky, tragic Witcher goodness. And like you say, the fact that it’s shorter and more focused lead to the writing being tighter and the storytelling working much better.

  • Stillhart,

Thanks for the tip! Looking into it, I don’t see the game files anywhere, just mods. Do you have to pirate it? I owned it 20 years ago, but I don’t exactly have the CD’s sitting around anymore.

    Seathru,
    YoTcA,

Nice, this is definitely going on my list. Have not found a space combat game that got close to the level of freelancer. Everspace 2 comes close, but did not have the same spark so far.

    Seathru,

I’ve been hoping Everspace 2 turns out to be a worthy successor. The first one was fun but didn’t scratch the Freelancer itch. I haven’t played the second yet.

    YoTcA,

I think it is still worth checking out. I did not have spent much time in the finished game, but played the early access version for a while. Might be more polished an better now. And also back then it came close to the freelancer feeling, just was not quite there yet. Or maybe my memories are just better than the actual game was, they are about 20 years old now 😅

if you are on android, the tower is pretty good. it has years of stuff to do, and it's still getting more added to it.

Been playing Melvor Idle, really great one that replicates old school runescape's Skilling experience as an idle game. I also enjoy Impossible Dungeon quite a bit as well, top down auto dungeon crawler where you earn points to upgrade and customize a party for getting as far down a dungeon as you can and competing with other players in tournaments and dailies.

    Poopfeast420,

Melvor Idle is great. I’ve been playing it for almost two months now and like it, even though I never played Runescape.

What’s the endorphin rush like for this game? OG RuneScape player, so I know getting the next tool or tree type but not sure how just having a stats screen gives the same kinda feeling?

A lot of people like Melvor so it must be doing something right :)

I absolutely was not ready for this game whr I played through it. It was such an emotional journey when it all came to a close

tenacious_mucus, do gaming w Does anyone else use mouse acceleration? I love it.

Despite just realizing this is a 2y old post that’s been necroed…like another commenter here, ive never liked how unpredictable mouse accel is, but my experiences are from long ago and originated from joysticks (controller and desktop “flight” types). Now i exclusively use mice with a variable DPS button at my thumb or what some call a “sniper” button. This way i have full control over WHEN, how long and how fast/slow. Ex: Logitech G502, Corsair M65

    maccentric,

I have the g502 and the sniper button is just far enough out of my reach that I never use it, even though that’s the reason I bought the mouse in the first place.

    tenacious_mucus,

The newer model, 502X, has a removable button that you can flip to either move it further or closer. I suppose not every mouse is gonna fit every hand size, tho. I have fairly “normal” sized male hands (glove size L), and the button sits directly under my thumb 🤷

    sixty,

    Lemmy algorithm is so fucked

DNAmaster10, do gaming w Pirating games you own?

Additionally, many newer games use Denuvo which is known for making your games run slower. Sometimes the pirated copies not only take up less space, but also perform better.

parlaptie, do gaming w What games have you played in the last 365 days that stand out to you as the most memorable experiences?

    Pizza Tower is genuinely amazing.

Cassette Beasts also surprised me in how good it was.

    AnarchistArtificer,

I enjoyed Cassette Beasts. I was talking to a friend about how remarkable it is that the game simultaneously feels like just a reskin of Pokémon, yet still has its own distinct personality. It’s a difficult balance for any game that’s taking inspiration from such an iconic game series, but it did great

Surfs_A_Lot, do gaming w What games have you played in the last 365 days that stand out to you as the most memorable experiences?

Kingdom Come Deliverance. There definitely is a bar to entry with how steep the learning curve is.

Once past that, it’s probably one of the best immersive RPGs I’ve ever played. Bonus points if you’re a history buff and study European history in the late 1300s.

That being said, I can say this game isn’t for everyone
