Few questions remain: Will it dethrone Jedi Survivor as worst performing game? Will it surpass Redfall in it’s emptyness? Does it have a chance fighting LOTR Gollum in “Most 2023ish game of the year”? Or will it truly be a Masterpiece? (Hint: Masterpieces don’t get released in 2023).
We will find out at release. Together with those that preorderd.
Stuff like this is the reason game companies continue to release unfinished games, they're breaking even before they even release. Stop pre-ordering games people!
His video was great. Not sure if anyone noticed when they were showcasing the game they were showing console games and cut off right before they fully showed F76 LMAO
I don’t know if they can reasonably judge the game within the 2 hours frame for refund. (Some game now do a very long shader compilation that can eat 30 minutes of your time.) The tutorial/beginning stage of the game are usually the most polished, but the latter part of the game could become very hollow.
I think 3 hours in I had only “played” for about 30 minutes, and to me, most of the story at that point was just trying to be as ridiculous and disturbing as it possibly could. Most of the gameplay was just avoiding falling cause dude doesn’t know how to walk. I had to go do something else at that point so I quit and never ended up coming back to it.
Maybe if I hadn’t gotten it free I might have given it more of a chance, but I definitely wasn’t a fan.
They took out most of the “rargh, Kratos smash!” angst of the previous games and gave us a heartfelt tale of a father and son. The viking setting is a great change of pace. The gameplay is obviously different, but not in a way that’s worse. And the optional post game enemies are a real challenge. Sigrun especially is on par with anything I’ve faced in the Souls games.
I did have to suffer some of the worst pronunciation of Icelandic I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s almost worth it to see my wife wince every time somebody says Niðavellir in GoW Ragnarok.
While I get the stereotype you’re talking about, I feel like this is a bit mean. Idk. Maybe I’m a bit biased because my stepbrother is basically a halo only type of gamer, but he’s also a decent human being.
Similarly I’m not gonna shit on my old roommate, who basically only played the sims.
Getting paid after every work day, never having to work overtime, having random friends is a must-have for promotions, which also come easy, house and furniture are always clean.
Promotions are easy to come by, can swap jobs without any difficulty, and the only thing you have to worry about is the pool ladder mysteriously disappearing while you are swimming.
I have only played the two GoW games on PSP and the canon game that came out on Java phones so my experience is pretty limited but I loved the games that I played.
I haven’t played any of the rebooted games but heard they have an amazing story, particularly the first one. Sadly, it’s too expensive…
What device do you use to game? If you have a capable PC and are unable to pay for the game, there are simple methods to obtain it for free, for which you should feel zero remorse in my opinion :). Piracy when the person in question is unable to pay for the game is nothing to be ashamed for, and I’ve read multiple developer interviews who endorse this!
I played the first 3 after the 2018 reboot, then Ragnorak on ps5 on release. All are great IMO.
GoW3 was pretty special. I played the remaster on PS4 and and it is a big graphical jump from the first two after my eyes had got used to ps2 graphics again.
The sex minigames in all 3 are so very early 2000s and I loved them.
The reboot is a pretty good continuation of the combat formula, but there does feel like there is more variety in the originals.
Ragnorak stretched on a little too far, and I was fatigued by just how amazing everything looked eventually, but it was still a fun time. Just a less tight package than the very enjoyable 2018 Gow.
