No, they shouldn’t have started businesses to chase ad money and convince people to work for you in a market that was saturated.
The OG magazines didn’t sell that much back in the day but enough to be a stable business due to its format and brief writings.
Then again who wants spoilers to anything? Same thing happened with movie critics. We all know too much, too quick, too soon. There’s no surprise or open expectations like there once was. You just need an announcement and a date. You know what you like.
I am skeptical of how well done it’ll be. Do they have any games that aren’t just dialogue heavy, QTE adventures? Becsuse even those simple styled games I have played from them have a lot of jank.
Not to say they are bad games; the genre allows for a lot of leeway since it’s story focused. But competitive multiplayer? You want that shit as smooth as possible.
You have to “work” hard to get the privilege to give them money and buy something, that is made rare. People will buy, because they think they “earned” the right to, and that they get something others don’t have. Not the biggest fan of something like that.
