WarmSoda, do gaming w It was a lively, bustling major city... of about 12 people and 1 chicken.

Don’t forget the impenetrable wall of loading around each “city”

TheLordHumungus, do gaming w Canadian version is always superior

Not really. Having to stop at Timmies every 10 minutes in the game is a shitty mechanic.

Stamets,
@Stamets@startrek.website avatar

I think you’re really overestimating how popular Tim Hortons is amongst Canadians. 15 years ago that’d be true but the entire chain slid downhill and their public perception is pretty shit. We don’t have the same attachment to the brand anymore, especially considering is no longer a Canadian company.

Daft_ish,

If it’s anything like Starbucks it will go through phases of populatiry while at the same time encroaching even more places far and wide.

TheLordHumungus,

I dunno macs has better coffee though. The food is better at Tim’s but more expensive. The soups and sandwiches are usually pretty good.

Scuse me, Beetle Adventure Racing is the of all time.

That game went so hard! All the tracks were super unique and had a bunch of secrets

vic_rattlehead,

The announcer voice was amazing too.

“INFERNO ISLE!”

“HOT LAAAAVA!”

aeronmelon, do gaming w You just had to be there

That era of arcade games was some of the best ever.

“COMING SOON FOR THE NINTENDO ULTRA 64!”

ColeSloth,

I had my initials in the top spot of so many cruisn world arcade systems in my city. Loved that game.

BiggestBulb, do gaming w Can we solve the mystery?

At least it's Genshin for only an hour, not 12 like some of the people I've unfortunately met. Also, nothing wrong with 12 as long as you're retired

Then again, how many retirees are playing Genshin? Haha

CaptnKarisma, do gaming w With all the remakes, they're adding up quickly.

X is still my favorite.

ouRKaoS,

I hope it gets a remake like VII.

otp,

What needs to be remade? It has a very purpose-built battle system, unlike 9 (for example), which used the same system the games had had since 4.

ouRKaoS,

What needs to be remade? Nothing; I’d just like to see updated graphics, a couple tweaks in the story here and there, and maybe a few tweaks to the sphere grid.

It’s a great game, I just wouldn’t mind seeing it get upgraded a bit.

otp,

You might enjoy one of the rereleases of FFX if you haven’t played it yet. They’ve updated the spheregrid, and even have an alternative one (International version, I think it’s called?..).

And there’s probably fan hacks by now, too!

JackGreenEarth,

I prefer Wayland.

Gork, do gaming w Has also maintained an active playerbase for 1500+ years

But if you wanted to turn chess into a 4X game, here it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taikyoku_shogi?wprov=sfla1

“One game may be played over several long sessions and require each player to make over a thousand moves.”

Zink, do gaming w Then vs Now

I think in the past the actual devs were more accessible, and their skills visible and admirable. Kind of like how video games themselves were more of a techy nerdy thing.

Today you have humongous teams with the work spread over hundreds of people. We hear from their community managers and marketing teams rather than reading the coders’ opinions. And just like the big games are more of a safe corporate product, they are more mainstream.
