I’ve got premium till May next year, always buy on Black Friday sales, cancelled my renewal, I can’t justify that price. Hopefully everyone cancels their renewal, they get the message and undo the damage.
Yeah I’m not going to pay any more than what I already pay for PS+ just to help people on Elden Ring. I don’t play any of the shit they give you on PS+ anyway so I’m out.
I know it’s become a meme, but because capitalism. I’m surprised gamers more gamers aren’t against it because it only ever makes our favorite hobby so much worse.
considering that Sony doesn’t offer PS+ Day 1 Launches, unlike Xbox
They don’t offer them as often as on Game Pass, but there are some day 1 launches on Extra.
As with most subscription models, the value proposition will probably decrease as we move forward (one only has to glance at streaming services to see what awaits us in the gaming space imo…). Bummer, but expected.
I share your sentiment. I previously owned an Xbox 360 but had been in the Sony camp for the past decade. For a few months I had a gamepass subscription without an Xbox console and I’m currently a PS+ premium member. The fact that you get day 1 access to first-party titles from Microsoft AND they have a gamepass streaming app on Android and PC is huge. I may have to reconsider the value proposition of my Sony services.
This would be a game that can survive really well if it was ported to PC and supports user server.(to host their collection of dream projects.) Instead, it probably not gonna last for very long following similar treatment to PS3’s little big planet when player count taper out.
It’s really good prototyping tool as well for people wants to dip in to game dev. It’s more complex compare to say Mario Maker, but less overwhelming compare to using unity/unreal engine. And you already have all sorts of project asset template you can copy from.
I’d imaging some future gamedev actually started by making dream projects.
I think Dreams would also have done much better with a major underlying game instead of advertising itself as effectively a game engine you can’t profit from. LBP, Mario Maker, Halo, Far Cry, and others have an appeal to them because they’re complete titles that people enjoy, but have level editors (or are the level editor in the case of Mario) that allow players to easily express their creativity given the rules and assets of these games. I haven’t ever launched Dreams, but I’m over the moon waiting for Restitched. Brings me back to the days of waiting for my LBP pre-order to release.
