Thanks for confirmation. One can't even stream the online streaming games with the PS Plus subscription. Its really only about the local games you have... I'm totally baffled.

But I think it does not support streaming over the internet. Its only limited to the same network you are with your PS5. Or am I wrong? Edit: Apparently I can't read. At least it is possible to stream your PS5 to other wifi networks.

They just need to integrate NFTs into Unity, then it's perfect. A masterpiece.

Another true IGN moment. 8/10? Man this thing looks ugly. And it can only stream your local Playstation 5 on the local network, otherwise it's useless. Battery life is a joke for a streaming only device. Does not have Bluetooth. And the price is expensive for what it does. Yet IGN praises this. Imagine Microsoft did the same thing for XBox. I really don't want to come off as a Console War guy (I'm a PC Gamer), but imagine that for a moment. And no, I do not hate Sony, I just hate this device.

thingsiplay, do gaming w [Discussion] Games you forgot you had
@thingsiplay@kbin.social avatar

What makes it worse for me is, that I sometimes fall in love with a Free to Play game, instead playing "owned" titles. Then there are the even more enormous count of emulation games with ROMs... and my brother gifted me a Series S where I had tried the Game Pass trial. I don't know where left and right is anymore.

Sometimes I get hyped when a game is on sale and want to buy and download, to play it. But then realize I already have it and immediately loose interest and move on with my life. Humble Bundle ruined my life.

I have tons of games on Steam I forgot to have them. In example I forgot that I had Skyrim and never played it. I've tried it this year for the first time in my life, just to see how it is. And immadiately could not play it, because the intro was bugged and I thought its a puzzle I had to solve. Took me until I understood that I had to limit the fps to 60, because Skyrim is buggy if you play it on a 120 Hz monitor.

@thingsiplay@kbin.social avatar

If you say so and I think about, It makes sense. It's like an actor playing different roles in movies. I was really impressed when reading the news the Mario voice actor could do Wario as well and feel kinda dumb now. :D

The new voice of Mario who is the new voice of Wario, is also the voice of Luigi. Either this man is a talent who can do multiple voices, or they sound the same. I didn't play enough to know the answer. Has anyone listened closer?

I agree with you! He changed in recent years and I usually don't like him anymore and most of his content. But this was really good and any Half-Life fan or anyone else interested into gaming or Valve history might be interested into the interview. The Half-Life developer talks about the development of the original game and how this came to be.

thingsiplay, do gaming w Steam Deck rival Lenovo Legion Go is out now
@thingsiplay@kbin.social avatar

Legion Go does not offer a cheap entry point for people who want to get started. Sure the hardware is strong and probably worth the price. But it does not change the fact that the cheapest Steam Deck model is still cheap to get, especially with the refurbished program with official support from Valve in mind as well. But for enthusiasts who want powerful hardware, the Legion Go is probably better.

My biggest problem with the Legion Go would be probably that its using Windows and not Linux, so this is a downside to me. The detachable controllers are nice to have and while I would not need them, having them easily replaceable is a big bonus to me. It's a little bit bigger than the Steam Deck and the Deck is already a chunky boi. When my research is correct, then the Legion Go is 200 grams heavier than the Deck? That is substantial.

and a slightly better battery life will probably be appealing to some

I want to see benchmarks or tests with real games for that. We had claims with previous handhelds too, where they promised longer battery life. But the reality was they did not last as long as promised or under very specific circumstances only. It has higher resolution and hertz, so it will need more power. And it's probably not optimized for low power settings like the Steam Deck with limited power settings does, but I am open to this.

there may be a bit of danger for Gabe Newell and his team

Not really. Valve (and Gaben) want this to happen. They want the handheld PC market to flourish, because they are pushing Steam and PC gaming forward and make it usable for non PC enthusiasts as well. Even if Valve stops selling Steam Decks, Gabe Newell and his team would not be in danger. Unless this was a sarcastic note; in which case ignore this paragraph.
