Bethesda, everything doesn’t need to have the biggest map ever, it just needs to have good writing and replayability.

Like New Vegas has a map 3 times smaller than fallout 4 & 76 and I’m still enjoying it almost 15 years later. (I’m not knocking those other games, I’m just saying map and game hugeness isn’t what matters.)

…well when you put it that way you are right. Elder scrolls games are known for having enormous expansive maps, criticizing that is like criticizing mario for having too many coins or something haha

@storksforlegs@beehaw.org avatar

Well lots of people wait for prices to come down, that’s what I’ve always done. Guess I am sticking with PC.

I wish the series well, but when we’ve just been told another game isn’t coming out for 10+ years you cant expect too much hype from fans. The best I can do is mild interest.

I dont know, I would argue Fallout 76 was much buggier.

PlayStation’s first Remote Play dedicated device, PlayStation Portal remote player, to launch later this year at $199.99 (blog.playstation.com) angielski

PlayStation Portal remote player brings the PS5 experience to the palm of your hand. It includes the key features of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback*. The vibrant 8-inch LCD screen is capable of 1080p resolution at 60fps, providing a high definition visual experience that’s...

So its as capable as a WiiU screen?

As long as they keep paying him to use his voice

@storksforlegs@beehaw.org avatar

Sony, please. Someone other than Pratt. He only does one voice and he’s already Mario.

(Also he’s a bit of a toolbox, to put it mildly)

@storksforlegs@beehaw.org avatar

I guess the only thing is to wait and see what its like.

But the fact that its single player and seems to be geared toward customization/unique backstories (actual rpg stuff) sounds very promising.

But there are certain titles that are only on PS5 and not PC?

Or if not lacking resources, definitely lacking the creative freedom.

It’s my all time favourite game and $29 is the max I would pay for a switch port. I guess I will wait for sales.

A remastered Steam edition, however…

That’s the screenshot they’re going with? Really?

What are some game genres / styles you like that aren't being made anymore, or are being mde but not very often? angielski

For me it’s first person puzzle games. I can think of maybe a dozen off the top of my head that came out in the last decade. I especially enjoy when they’re open world. The ability to just quit a puzzle that’s stumped you and go try something else for a little bit is incredibly refreshing.

Yes, I totally agree with this. I would play these games so much growing up. Especially SimLife.

I like sim games where you feel like you’re experimenting with a scenario, not just trying to get the highest score or some win condition.

I think they’ve said that it will have backward compatibility, and will access the to switch library. (I hope this is true also!)

Good article! I remember reading that he never intended for katamari to become a big franchise. Im glad he’s still designing games and staying true to his weird vision.

I think the reason they are struggling is because all the decisions on what should be greenlit are being made by VC investor types, business people who arent in it for the love of film or storytelling etc. No chances are taken, only huge guarantees of big returns are considered (which means replicating what has made money in the past.)

This kind of thinking neglects what actually makes a movie good, and how movies were made in the past.

There need to be laws to establish protections of voice work for this reason. Any commercial use of an actor’s voice should require compenstation.

What a nightmarish waste of time.

Also I can see kids outsmarting this thing in two seconds. Just wear a fake beard, a bit of makeup. Boom, Adult.

Somebody make this, this is brilliant. I would buy this.

TABS (Totally Accurate Battle Simulator) is on sale? Its pretty fun.

@storksforlegs@beehaw.org avatar

Mostly New Vegas and Fallout 4. But really anything would be good if it adds replayability.

storksforlegs,
@storksforlegs@beehaw.org avatar

thanks for the recommendation! That sounds great, I much prefer the design of the earlier games.

They did, they’re a special feature on the 2008 Limited Edition dvd trilogy.

If you like Katamari Damacy you should try ps1 game called “Incredible Crisis”.

It is an extreme wacky minigame… game, one of those games that is simultaneously addictive and punishingly difficult. You play as four members of a japanese family trying to get home for grandma’s birthday, and insanity ensues. (Aliens, bank robbers, etc).

It got an english release back in 1999 but I dont think it made a huge mark. In any case, its very fun and ridiculous. Especially good to play with friends. It also has an amazing ska soundtrack by Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra if you enjoy ska, haha

I started playing Battletech… (thank you Gog summer sale)

awesome, good to know! Thank you, this is good advice. I hadn’t realized there were user made mods to start with, haha
